I even tried the 'well what if they are broken?!, I better try them out real quick' argument which might have worked except she asked if they were on Prime and they weren't so that isn't going to work at all.

KEF Porsche Design SPACE ONE Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones are now $99 on Newegg. KEF makes some very decent headphones. Even if you never use NC it's likely worth it anyways.

Right in my price range and reviews seem to point to them being damned decent for the sale price.

Is this thread the right place for questions relating to headphone hardware maintenance? I own a pair of Sennheiser Momentum headphones that recently had the rubber banding holding the earpads to the actual structure begin to break. I've owned these headphones for a few years now, and I've already replaced the detachable cable once, which was a very simple process- heck, they came with a spare cable. I couldn't find any first-party options for purchasing new earpads, and pickings in general were slim (and not that well reviewed on Amazon) and went for an option sold by Geekria. Trouble is, I'm not even sure they fit at all, and even the reviews claiming they got them to attach did so only after a somewhat involved struggle. Are there any other options, is Geekria a scam, am I even asking in the right thread? Am I just going to want to duct-tape the old earpads back on, or go for the sane if expensive option of just shelling out for a new pair of headphones? I can provide photos, if that would help?

These are CLEARLY made to be travel headphones. They come with a nice case and even a little adapter for airplanes (that airplanes don't even use anymore). The build quality is definitely there. The leather feels very plush and the headphones overall feel absolutely rock solid. They're very comfy and I could definitely see myself wearing them for long periods of time. The ANC is definitely good but it isn't completely isolating like I expected. It sucks out the bass and a lot of the white noise but you can still hear voices so it's not like you car wear them solely to drown out the outside world without playing music. Still not 100% sure I'm going to keep them though. I really don't need them, what I do need is a good pair of bluetooth headphones/earbuds to use with my Google VR headset. After an hour or so of listening I'm not sold yet. Bass is deep and detailed but also over pronounced for my liking. I'm more of an open backed guy anyway. Edit: yeah they're going back. Unless someone here wants a $100 pair of KEF Space One. I'd rather put that money towards a pair of bluetooth buds. GnarlyCharlie4u fucked around with this message at 17:30 on Nov 27, 2018 |

Speaking of Nuforce, I've been waiting a week for an RMA # for my BE6i's that poo poo the bed on me after 10 months of sporadic usage. The limited warranty is up in a couple weeks. I wonder if they'll get it to me before then. This is actually the second pair of Nuforce earbuds to die on me in less than a year. The first was a pair of NuForce NE-7M's that sounded great with my rockbox'd Sandisk Sansa back in the day.

Yeah, i didn't mention the design/build/packaging much because it's what you'd expect from PD. Solid as all hell and extremely German, including the hidden battery compartment button design. Spent about 6 hours in them overnight because I'm an insomniac, and they're extremely comfortable. Oddly enough though, I'd say these are very tame as far as bass goes. But as I've said above, I won't pretend to be a good sound judge

I bought a pair of $45 Bludio Bluetooth headphones awhile ago to use with my tablet to watch TV and there was a slight but intolerable audio lag that would get progressively worse. They have a wired adapter so no big deal I just use them for my computer, but I'd still like to get some BT headphones. Googling around made it seem like this is just a problem endemic to BT, but I have a BT speaker that works fine with no lag. Is it possible to find such headphones for under $100?

The reason I never considered one of those was the output impedance on that unit was too high to play nice with my more sensitive headphones.

Has anyone got any experience with swapping Hifiman pads? I cannot for the loving life of me get the pads off my HE6se to swap them out for thicker leather ones. I know about the four clips on the ring but even putting in enough pressure to hurt my fingers I can't see to get it to unclip. Am I pushing the wrong way?

You want to pinch the pad right where the clip is and pull towards the center. Yes it will feel like you're going to break the plastic ring. It'll just warp a bit. It's not the best mounting mechanism.

Since you didn't mention a budget here is something high end you can work backwards from https://audio-technica.com.au/products/ath-dsr9bt/ (I know they're wireless but they also work via USB directly if so desired) Make sure any alternatives you're looking at can transport audio over the USB directly.

USB isn’t relevant for wireless so I’m not sure what you are after - it’s either Bluetooth, or you can get specialist low latency non Bluetooth wireless headphones for TV - but they probably aren’t what you want. What sources will she be listening to? What kind of headphones do you want? Over ear, on ear, IEMs ?

I'm also looking for some bluetooth iem or over ears. Noise cancelling not necessary. Trying to keep it around $100 but I'm really looking for the best price/performance ratio. I'm curious if the Monoprice offerings are any good. For reference I've got a lot of open backed headphones. Sennheiser HD598se, Sennheiser HD6xx, HiFi Man HE4xx, Phillips Fidelio X2, Phillips SHP9500, Audio Technica K240 ATH M70x, and HD598c are my only closed backed pairs. I'm also curious about truely wireless buds that would be good for motorcycling (must fit under a hemet) or if I'm just better off getting a bluetooth cable like the KZ Aptx.
