I am pretty sure you actually can't get correctly sized rental skis. My buddy was on 167 last weekend and is 6'5" 190lbs...
First try for me. Asked for 165ish, he came out with 165s and 167s and let me pick.

Too bad they're cheap learner skis. One thing at a time, I guess.

Almost $20 million in fines should stop them from doing it again, but I doubt they get the full amount.

$2.1 million was the final fine. It should have been more, should have at least been the cost of replacing a chairlift IMO :colbert:

Everything is so good right now. I was up at Copper on Wednesday and it was great outside of them still not having anything open at the Central Village because they're still loving building the new lifts.

Also I’m headed up to Aspen soon, aren’t you around there?

After my first day out on the slopes after a year away I have come to the conclusion I'm a terrible skier who needs to go back to basics.

At least it was a beautiful day out and I still had fun.

Most of us haven’t skied in months!

My last time was at Purgatory in April. It’ll be different for sure.

There is an idea of a Yuns, some kind of abstraction, but there is no real me, only an entity, something illusory, and though I can hide my cold gaze and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable: I simply am not there.

I'm making my daughter wear blue leopard pattern ski pants this year because they were on sale. She hates them. Am I a bad parent or the worst parent?

I unironically wear bright colored shells because it helps with visibility in the backcountry.

I legitimately bought new ski pants this year because my old ones are the same colour as my puffy and that's just way too much purple.

Also, Shiffrin became the 7th woman to win a world cup event in all five disciplines today.

I can get behind this one. Give me some outrun/vaporwave style gear. You can keep the 215cm / 5mm* underfoot skis though.

I was a bit surprised there were that many, so I figured there would be quite a few of them from the earlier years. But no, looks like the earliest starting career (not sure if she was the first to get all five) was Pernilla Wiberg. One from the earlier years, Moser-Pröll had all four before Super-G. And now Shiffrin has all six, after parallel slalom!

Most really good racer kids train all events to some degree, and when you come on to the circuit young you're normally smaller and more agile. Lindsey Vonn has 2 Slalom wins.
