I posted before about the creepy glory of neural-network-made pictures, and now we can talk about Tumblr’s NSFW filter, open_nsfw, which loves to see dicks in everything and make dicks itself. Here are “neutral scenes,” judged neither SFW or NSFW:   And the SFW scenes:    And now, what open_nsfw considers porn (linked for vaguely genitalia-shaped things):  Dickginabutt Boobs? Balls? Who knows? A butt dripping into a butt, foreverNow, the problems arise when open_nsfw sees scenes like these as equally pornographic as the dicks ‘n butts. These are also considered NSFW so I’ll link them, but you’ll be disappointed. I guess if you squint it’s dicks? Maybe a ghost dick?So a lot of art and photos on Tumblr are getting flagged for removal because the old Yahoo neural network they use to catch it can see dicks in everything from a pastoral pasture scene to a fractal to a photo of you and your bald friend. And this is what they’re relying on while pornbots are currently running rampant. As a final trick, you can ask open_nsfw to show you a particular scene, at both SFW and NSFW extremes.
