This is cool. I like this thread. The NEET guy is going to self-diagnose as a depressive, but he’s actually a narcissist. He thinks he’s too smart for a job and that’s why he fails, but he only sees failure as a negative judgement from other people. He feels shame but not guilt which is textbook narcissism. He should feel guilty about the strain he’s put on his parents, but he’s shown zero empathy or anxiety about how they feel. He hasn’t mentioned their feelings at all. That’s my internet armchair diagnosis anyways. Hopefully he talks about his parents more because it’s going to be really illuminating. I mean, uh, shits boring who cares lol.

Another comment for this thread... Japan may have a first world life style, however on average the workers over there make about... half what you would in the U.S. Teaching in the U.S? 40 to 60k per year. Teaching in Japan? 20 to 30k per year. Engineering? 60 to 100k per year (In Japan) 30k to 50k per year. Hey OP just wanted to let you know this thread didnt instantly make me blast chocolate milk out my nose in a fit of uncontrollable laughter therefore it sucks and I'm voting it 1 in the hopes that it gets gassed and this has nothign to do with the subject matter making me supremely uncomfortable because it hits way too close to home

I don't know why, but I've become kind of interested in watching this story play out. I was 99% certain GBS goons were going to hate on it because they seem to have a problem with Japan, but it looks like some other people are actually interested in the comic too.
