Fair enough, I've not invested in Bank Perks yet and I'm more interested in focusing on finishing the 24 hour challenges but I'll start working on the perks once I'm through with the challenge runs or when I'm out of other pre-Evil perks to buy.

You have to unlock 45 tiles and spend your empire points on Russia to get effect again.

Guess I'll have to try one of those Gold generating builds. I thought I was going to start a forest heavy + forest boosting pantheon/heritage build tonight and idle my way to some fat stacks of gold.

So, after gilding the entire deck in Idle Dice, the next thing you do is... gild it 33 more times?

Nope. I'm out.

It's only 32 more times!

And each time becomes more tedious and time consuming than the last, despite letting you gild multiple cards at once. :v:

The dev of idle dice has a good concept but doesn't seem to understand what makes an idle game fun. It turns very tedious. Kittens Game is better about making you feel like your progressing. Idle Dice feels like you are backsliding constantly. I think part of the problem is how many drat cards there are. The next logical step should have been making cards platinum (you don't lose the gild when turning the deck in)

Either way there's achievements for auto draw and auto gild that make things better, but an auto convert and auto "buy all" would go a long way towards improving future full deck conversations. It really could use something for all the turned in luck so that's worth farming a bit of. It's just so active and keeps demanding more time. Maybe the dev will figure it out, maybe they wont. Either way Idle dice is worth a play for gilding the first card, it's interesting up until that point.

Other casino games could easily keep it interesting, especially if each progressed at their own rate and prestige independently.

The clue items aren't needed once you've done the challenge to make them, assuming you read spoilers or remembered what they said/depicted

I do, and honestly none of them were hard, I just don't want to jump out of this long high stat rebirth and find out that oops I goofed.

On that note, as soon as these dang BAE items finish boosting special I'll hopefully be unlocking beast while I grind out the non-24 hour challenges. I imagine 50x more NGUs and almost 10x the adventure stats will probably be enough.

The 'auto-x' functions in Idle Dice always seemed to be one step behind what I needed. E.g. after gilding my first deck, I'd expect that the option to auto-gild would become available. But it was also something I no longer needed, and no indication of when the thing I needed would become available. It's constantly too slow. :(

Wow patch for idle dice, auto spin toggle on wheel, and a massive nerf to casino luck multiplier. I'm sure this has to do with late game issues for people with tons of casinos and basically making luck obsolete but that's also the point of an idle game, make old parts obsolete. It makes the first few casinos much more difficult. Why do I even want this update? The dev does not seem to understand that each patch needs to be strictly bug fixes or make the player more powerful than before the patch, this can be nerfing something and adding something new that overshadows it (which is what should have been done).

It's like he's trying to balance around a time frame in the multiple months or years and be an epic idle game, when it's really a solid but small concept that would be best paced for 3-8 weeks depending on how many layers of prestige he really wants.

Fluffy and the new spire & masteries was the last major patch.

The new one yesterday involves building your own spire for the bad guys to advance in; a sort of tower defense thing.

You have 7 different types of traps and towers to put in the spire which have various effects and once they're leveled up, affect other traps nearby to create somewhat complex combos. For instance, building out frost -> lightning-> knowledge -> lightning -> strength (on new line) -> 4x fire traps is my go-to combo at the moment. Also the game doesn't penalize you for moving or removing traps so you're free to keep trying to chase the elusive most efficient build. It starts off really simple but gets complex quickly and it's something you can play with freely as the rest of the game chugs in the background.

Oof this hits close to home. Just had a group of F2P regulars in the discord talk to me about p2w creep, which quickly turned into accusations that I got a taste of the money and am hamfisting AP slots into everything just to chase the money and other similarly nasty comments. Players that have been playing I believe over 300 days, no less. :smith:

In other news, .411 has an extra accessory slot, daycare slot, and macguffin slot up for grabs for the first 3 completions of troll challenge. There's also some rewards added for the basic and blind challenges on evil. There's gonna be a special Christmas theme and a ~~special reward~~~ if you do 10 daily spins from patch release => some arbitrary point in January. Macguffins can (finally!) be right clicked to either merge into the same type of MacGuffin equipped or to place it in a new slot.

Wandoos also has been reworked into something actually Evil for Evil difficulty. The bonus divider has been replaced with one hella-huge speed divider. So instead of just maxing out Wandoos XL with 100 energy you'll likely be pushed back to MEH, or earlier. Overall its a small-huge nerf to your stats depending on how overkill you were on Wandoos. Welcome to Evil Difficulty!

That's really loving stupid, especially if any of them ever played any other idle game; pretty much all the other idle games I've ever played with extensive premium options always lean super heavy into that crap, with whatever premium currency they hand out slowly trickling before tapping out. This is especially the case for games that tied it to finite achievements.

If anything, the fact that I felt like I could prioritize purchases in the AP shop /and/ see my AP income slowly improve over time meant I never felt the /need/ to spend money. This is the first idle game where a premium currency actually feels properly integrated even from the perspective of F2P. And that's before you even get into the whole, as the first reply I got in this thread put it; if you've been playing a game for that long maybe throw some dosh over to the dev(s)?

There's plenty of AP from challenges to buy anything worthwhile without ever spending a dime, which you should do anyway if you enjoy a game enough to play it constantly for 10 months while formulating strong opinions on the matter.

GGGG, the phone idle game I was playing has over the last year or so gone from fiddling with boxes to produce products and buy the effects of a prestige without having to actually do one into full-on gatcha collection box upgrades with real money only boxes available and bundled gems packages to buy boosts to stay competitive on production leaderboards with in-game prizes that obviously heavily reward big spenders.

Even though you are selling (out) quality of life products and "cash shop" exclusive upgrades they're still achievably earnable in-game - I only dropped :10bux: on it after earning the improved loot filter myself, and I spent the AP on hearts that really only increase the rate I earn other things.

Yeah IDK what those idiots are talking about because with the two newbie packs and finally starting to hit the end of challenges/beginning of meaningful ITOPOD farm I feel like I'm coming out the other side on AP and gaining faster than things get added that you can buy with it (other than consumables). Speaking of, that troll just bumped me up to 8 digger slots woo didn't miss the sale.

Just finished the troll challenges, appropriately with the cat fully in the middle of my screen. Thank god though, the amount of focus they require is hellacious and 159 is so many bosses.

I think the reason I like NGU is that I get into little cycles where I'll let a game run and poke at it once or twice a week for a few weeks or couple months, especially when I have other things I find that distract me from my computer like my upcoming :yotj:, but there's a bunch of stuff to do, and lots that you can actually gain with a few clicks a week so that you come back to something where you sit down to evaluate your power and think "yeah, I bet I can go for this now".

Don't worry about this, people have become so battered by good F2P games that suddenly require tens of thousands of dollars to make any progress they fear even the smallest power gains. These are mostly kids or people who never grew up. It's the same people that farm materials for an item in an MMO and say the item was "free" not 10 million gold because they farmed it! Ignore that they could have sold the materials for 12 million gold. Ignore that they spent 200 hours farming it and if they farmed something else they would have had 20 million gold. It's a very child like outlook where they haven't realized time is money and they don't value time. This is important because it means they don't think your time making the game is worth anything.

Honestly these people will never ever give you a dime and will only be happy if the game has no purchasable content not even skins because they cry over that poo poo in Fornite.

You take poo poo way too personally, I highly recommend you go read forums for other games and see just how predatory some of these games are. There's "quick start" guides for games that list buying a $30 hero is good early game and will cut your journey to midgame down from 6 months to 2 weeks. But after that the unit is useless, but if you aren't willing to spend that you shouldn't start playing in the first place because end game requires pay only units in the $500+ total range. And these are players making these and insisting everything is fine. There is nothing like this is NGU.

You haven't added many free slots after the initial burst when you release a new feature, and maybe that is what is bugging them. More from XP would be nice I guess, but really I think a better idea is release them with some kind of event (or a reward for playing for X number of days) then if you don't hit it by the cutoff you can just buy it for AP. I'm not sure if it's really worth looking too hard at though, NGU's prices are very low though and the free AP is enough to cover the critical things anyway.

Maybe some kind of "earn AP" button in the shop that takes you to challenges? Remind people of how much they can get if they finish up their 24h runs.

This would be perfect, it pokes fun of most games and is actually useful and in game. I wouldn't use the word offers I'd use "tasks" just because it's more likely someone new will click it out of interest instead of go "oh gee another money grab".

NGU has an interesting line to toe, it's mocking the predatory nature of F2P games, while being a F2P game itself. It's a tasty irony. Mostly NGU just does it right, spending money is pretty optional until you are really push post game, and at that point you have over a year of play time and really you should buy 4G some beer at that point.

Pro tip (which I regret not doing): do your evil challenges before refreshing, the wandoos nerf is extremely severe.

Also, boss requirements seem to be bugged, my items are showing that they're only x% effective in the tooltip, but I seem to be getting 100% effect - my caps don't go up when I kill a boss, and my inventory stats panel shows 400% wandoos bonus even though bald egg (my only source of wandoos bonus) tooltip shows 344%. And greasy nerd shows up in the adventure button tooltip even though I can't actually go to him.
