This designer 'clarification' says you *can* run freight train chain port to port as long as it's two different trains.. but they all need to touch s token.

This changes things a fair bit, so how do we want to play it going forward?
Edit: my vote is we play it the way we thought it worked i.e a chain of trains cannot go red to red

Upgrade Beccles to Green #14.
Run 2/3E for 120 (30 for WVR station, to port of Lowestoft for 90).
WVR withholds and share price drops 50->44.
Buys a 3F train.
Acquires Y&N. Y&N survives. New share price is 44+(68/2) = 78. New par price is 72.

I now own 4 shares Y&N (half of (3xY&N + 5xWVR)). Mr. Squishy and Known Lecher now have 1 option in Y&N. You both need to decide if you want to pay 39 to keep the share or sell it to the bank for 39. The rest of the shares go into the market. I think that's everything...

I also created a new sheet and merged the two companies in the OR2.2 tab.
There's a lot of accounting I just did, so if someone can double check to make sure I didnt miss anything, that would be great.
I gave you both the shares assuming you'll buy them. If not, just dont forget to update that.

I would agree to play with not having trains chain from one offboard area to another offboard area. That probably would have changed the value of each of the companies in the first PR and changed some of the track lays.

Huh! Lechers was still a bad lay because you can't earn revenue twice in an OR from the same location, which i presume hasn't been errata'd out.

Porfiriato

It looks like the operating order in OR2.2 is

WNR (me)
Y&N (Facker)
NGC (Cthulhu)
ENR (Squishy)
L&E (Cthulhu)

I'll buy up the rest of a Y&N share (-39)

WNR operates
#8852 in E6 Watford, #57 in E8 Thetford
token in Fakenham
run 2F Fakenham-Port of Wells for 150 (30 Fake + 30 hex bonus for Wells + 90 Port of Wells)
pay dividends, stock 82>90

I guess I'm okay with playing the rules as we originally thought they were.

E: Actually if we're going to go against the designer's errata, I would suggest that we play a variation on what we originally thought, that F trains specifically can't run port to port (or red area to red area). Otherwise, especially once we start getting into the longer/permanent trains, I feel like not being able to run from a red area to a port (or vice versa) is going to be a crippling handicap on the freight train companies compared to the other two. And I say that as someone running a freight company.

Another bitty rule regarding F trains is that perms are treated differently, in that they dont have to go end to end.

FACKER

Those are the trains bought in phases F G and H right?
Also agree on no red to red for freight trains but red to port is okay. That is how I originally read it as well. I misspoke earlier saying off-board to off-board.

Y&N operates
Lays yellow 57 in Felixstowe and yellow 8851 in Stowmarket.
Place token in Thetford.
Run 3F from Beccles to Great Yarmouth Port for 220= 30Beccles+100Port+90(3hexes).
Run 2/3E From Lowestoft through Beccles to Ipswich for 60. (20+0+40)
Run 2/3E from Ipswich to Port of Felixstowe for 120. (0+20+100)
220+60+120 = 400 total
Pay dividends. These are 5x the stock price to it moves up to 4 spaces to the right. 78 ->>>> 116

Shouldn't this only be plus 30+100+60 as the destination square doesn't count for the distance bonus?

Could someone check the rules for token placement - isn't it an option in the tile-laying action?

ENR operates
Upgrades Norwhich
Run 2/3E, port-cromer-norwhich ignoring cromer, for 150
Pay out, share price double jumps from 62 to 74

e: screw it, withhold, drop to 58, buy a 3E.

Only for london, otherwise you can lay track and place a station marker. (You can build a village instead of laying track)

Yes good call. I updated the sheet to remove 30 from the dividend. This doesn't affect the change in stock price as it's still more than 4x the original stock. I don't believe anything else changes.

Par N&B at 68, buy the director's share. Autopass on further PR companies.

So if I'm reading the rules correctly, it seems like the only way a company can end up on the bottom row of the market is if a share gets sold, or if the new price of two merging companies puts it there?

yeah I hosed up last round so I'm trying to figure out my turn lol - didn't realise I couldn't just flip a share.

Buy a share of NGC from the IPO, then two NGC shares. Then I'm just going to buy two shares of EUC in the next two stock actions, then pass from here.

The rules state that stock actions are sell then buy, so you can't buy a share of NGC and then immediately dump it in the same turn.
