But that's giving money to South America instead of back to our own defense industry. American imperialism exists solely for that purpose. Pacifying most of the world with money is possible but that's like curing disease to a private health industry.

That's not "pacifying" the world, it's buying up all of their capital.

The reason the western business owners get all pissed off about China spending money on stuff is they're all too busy pouring all their money into stock buybacks to actually invest anywhere and it upsets them

China is actually in a unique position that allows them to snap up assets like this on very advantageous terms, because it's the only great power with a sovereign wealth fund like this. As much hold as they have over their governments, Western financial institutions don't have the same kind of muscle to, say, foreclose on an entire foreign port.

this is dumb as gently caress analysis, first of all, socialism cannot be imperialistic by definition. Socialism is liberation, imperialism is exploitation. China is socialist and liberation cannot be exploitation. Those "articles" are betray the bourgeois worldview of the authors who think only in terms of "ownership" by one capitalist exploiter or another in a zero sum game.

In reality the Communist Party of China advances the global goal of socialist internationalism, thus the port will be held in common and "owned" by both the working classes of China and Kenya. China's infusion of aid into Kenya is merely to help repair the country after centuries of colonialist rape and capitalist exploitation by neoliberal austerity programs of the IMF. Even if China were to build educational camps in Kenya (which they aren't), it would not equal even one-tenth of the damage neoliberal austerity IMF programs would inflict on Kenyan working class. The benefit to both countries will to improve trade, promote global peace, promote international proletariat solidarity, and advance the productive forces of both China and Kenya.

Comrade maduros heroically holding onto Venezeula and forging a "pink" alliance despite US backed coups against him.

On the long run, the only hope for liberation of Latin America from IMF austerity programs imposed by capitalists is the unification and solidarity between the Chinese and Venezuelan working classes. Chinese Socialism is the only force strong enough to fight off American capitalism.

Having national resources and capital owned by a foreign bourgeois creates more resentment and stokes nationalist populism, than if you were working through the comprador national bourgeois to keep prices low.
