Hey folks, has anyone stepped up the TotalBiscuit niche of PC gaming based reviews? I’ve gotten burned on bad ports a few times since he passed away so it would be nice to have someone providing that service.

Libertarian is a stolen word and has been for quite a while. My big P&T thing was Bullshit, which even as a much younger and denser person I still experienced the whiplash when they went from things like "magnets don't do anything for you, because you're not made of metal, dumbass" to "actually the ADA is a bunch of crap because ~~tHe FrEe MaRkEt~~"

bullshit is weird because they sometimes got political things right because it's something like government surveillance. they were going to do an episode on the bullshit of bullshit covering everything they got wrong but i think it got canceled before they could.

That show was awesome. I remember it changing its tone a bit in the later seasons when they started running out of obvious nonsense like creationism to make fun of, but I enjoyed it all the same.

Walmart is good for developing 3rd world nations because their economy would be crap otherwise and they supply """""""""""""""""Housing""""""""""""""""" to their employees. *shows picture of a small closet with two bunkbeds and an end-table in it* None of profits from Walmart are not put back into the local economy and Walmart doesn't pay taxes. But that's not relevant because it makes this episode, ironically enough, Bullshit. That show is at its best when they tackle quacks who prey on the desperate or ignorant for personal gain and at its worse when it's a modern right-wing libertarian propaganda platform.

Yvonmukluk posted:Lindsay's just snuck in a Death of The Author video just under the wire: I know people in the thread were going back and forth a while ago about how deep to go on theory and background reading in videos, but a video like this seems to keep the right amount of name-brand philosophy in order to develop an original argument in a somewhat economical manner and still look good and be clever. Anything more than what’s there and we’d be getting bogged down in fights with Foucault and not have a nice, crisp conversation there at the end. If you want more theory, it’s easy enough to read it yourself, and if there’s just enough in the video to start a conversation, let’s just have it in the comments. Also, considering that the internet’s conception of Foucault is “lobsterman bugbear” and not even the 4chanest neet has ever heard of Barthes, this seems like the right pitch for public discourse. PS what will the new A E S T H E T I C for 2019 be?

I loving FORGOT We Happy Few came out this year that's how long a year it's been. And it makes even less sense because the game came out in August and that was like less than half a year ago. I guess we just went from one video game disaster set piece to another and WHF barely had time to linger around the mindpace. Now that I'm reminded of it I remember that they had sold a season pass for DLC right when the game came out as well which still hasn't come out right?

We happy few looks so ill-equipped to use survival mechanics. If I was doing a game with survival meters I would have no negative effects like hunger or thirst, and just have food and drink items provide major bonuses that incentivize crafting them to give you more single-use power buffs.
