yeah but wizards are loving stupid assholes who poo poo themselves constantly and wouldn't last 5 minutes in Starfleet, where engineers can solve baby problems like air displacement by shunting it to another dimension or making officers skirts/kilts fly up.

That's why in the North and South pole day/night lasts for months. It's because there's not enough people there to counteract the "time variance" that we created to gently caress up the day night cycle. This is also why in the 1500's February used to be warm and humid. We hosed it up by telling people it wasn't if they were "north" of some fake line. I know this is the funny pictures thread but I can't tell who is trolling and who doesn't understand the concepts of matter, volume, and pressure. But star trek does a lot of things with the transporters that don't make sense if you think about them for too long.
