Regular Dominoes is easy. Just match the pips and be the first one to run out of dominoes. Try to use up your high value dominoes first.

What I don't understand is the variant you also find in game based on 5s.

Make the ends add up to multiples of 5 to score. Anything else doesn’t score. This is the real game of dominoes played in hunting camps and prisons everywhere.

There's a bit of luck to All Fives but once you know what you're doing the AI is really easy to beat.

Total fuckin' silence.
For the purposes of that domino challenge, you can usually leave a game midway through if it looks like you're going to lose (do it way before an opponent has a chance to place their last domino) and your streak will remain intact. The NPCs will chew you out for it but that's all, you can rejoin a brand new game with them immediately. As said, the basic version (which you can play at, I think, Emerald Ranch station) is the "easiest" to understand, but it's arguably also the most luck-based, and depending on the number of players it can take a while. As also said, the All Fives variant you can play in Saint Denis can go by a lot quicker and is fairly easy to win once you understand it.

In All Fives, say the first player places the double six domino, as is often standard. If the next player has, for example, the 4:6 domino, they can place that on either side and score ten points... because the ends are now six and four, and six add four equals ten, and ten is a multiple of five.

The in-game help section actually does a much better job of explaining the game and all of the variants you can find, so maybe take another look at it. Good luck. :)

The only strategy you need to worry about with dominos is to think one move ahead, sometimes you can make a play that makes it a certainty that you'll have a move next turn and so you do that, unless you have the chance to score

I have to wonder what I am doing different. I might get griefed once or twice in a small, easily brushed off way. Meanwhile I can be playing with one of my friends and people will seem to come from miles around to gently caress with him specifically.

Has anyone had a problem with a stranger becoming permanently greyed out so they won't give missions any more? I loved doing jobs for Anthony Foreman but now he is always in St Denis and his marker greyed out like I just did a job, though the last one I did for him was near New Years.

This and locking out the board. Like if you have 4 of the three pip dominoes and 3 are on the board, you want to close off the non-three pip ends with threes so nobody else can play and have to skip.

In real dominoes if you lock the board you get everyone’s points in hand but I think RDR makes you play after everyone skips which is bullshit.

rdo got an update today

https://www.rockstargames.com/newsw...ontent=newswire

quote:

Today’s update to the Red Dead Online Beta introduces Gun Rush, where you’ll put your survival instincts to the test, gathering weapons and ammunition while the play area shrinks in this new mode for up to 32 players. Available to play now in Free-for-all and Team variations, where the last one standing wins.

More updates are coming soon including new Races and Showdown Modes and new clothing and emotes, as well as some additional changes based on player feedback including:

Daily Challenges: Tackle new challenges each day covering every aspect of the game, from sharpshooting to evading the law.

Law and Bounty Upgrades: Some changes are coming to the way the Law and Bounty systems work in Red Dead Online to reduce the enticements for griefing. Soon, players will get a bounty for committing crimes and will be incentivized to pay them off within an allotted time. Wait too long and bounty hunters from each of the states will track the player forcing them to either pay up or escape.

Parley Changes: We’re making the Parley system easier to trigger so that you can avoid aggressive players more quickly. In addition, it will be easier to trigger Feuds, Posse Feuds and Leader Feuds to take on attacking players in structured competition.

Proximity-Based Player Blips: Player location blips will soon appear only over short distances, reducing the range at which you are visible to others, decreasing the likelihood of being targeted by another player across large areas. Down the line, we’re also looking to introduce the ability to identify players who grief and kill indiscriminately with a progressively darkening blip that becomes more visible and at a longer range, so everyone in a session can identify potentially dangerous opponents at a glance and from a safe distance.

More to Come

We are working on lots of new content that we will be releasing this year. Just a few of the updates in the works are:

All-new missions to build on your Story in A Land Of Opportunities – from previously established characters like Horley and Jessica LeClerk, and some new ones as well.

A range of Dynamic Events throughout the world

Lots of new competitive modes including new Showdown Modes and Races

Plus new weapons and clothing, and lots more that we’re not quite ready to announce just yet…

Whats the change to the parely system? How does it help me avoid aggressive players - do I go invincible to them? I never used it. Be rad if, after being killed twice by the same person, I could just choose to go passive but only to that player.

I like the update, player blips and poo poo seems good.

The whole point of RDO and GTAO is the cat-and-mouse experience. But GTAO eventually got private servers so I'm sure it's forthcoming. Just not soon.

I'm imagining doing online stranger missions in a private server and thinking how little payoff there is for taking on the AI enemies in them. Most of the wagon train escort missions only have like two scripted spots for AI enemies--it's almost like they want humans to pick up the slack. Though i guess if you don't need that much risk to feel rewarded (which merits the giant pussies comment), then private servers would be better for you.

I want to play on all these griefing servers you yella bellied yokels keep yammering on about. Anytime I'm on RDO it takes considerable effort on my part to even have one guy continuously follow me around and bother me. Granted, I keep playing like they're not even there when they start, but still, their attention span is pretty short.
