And this one that cleared auction just the other day showed up for auction again:

Graded 3.5 at a JU house, 85000kms. Sold for 199000 yen, but was immediately listed the day after again. Any idea why? I requested for it to be inspected, if I can get it for 200000 yen I will probably go for it assuming a clean bill of health.

That one stood out to me the other day as well. I'd love to have a zoom in on the text of the tire cover to see what sort of bizarre it likely is.

That one looks exactly like the one I just bought down to being a narrow body. Shows two batteries in there too, though it is a 12v system so ???. Guess ours will have dual batteries too.
The manual transmission and mileage make all the difference imho, and this one in Dallas looks a bit more worn, decals on the side are a bit chewed and it doesn't look like they detailed it? And why don't they have the spare on the back? :iiam:

I thought pretty much the same as you, both in regards to the detailing, and the difference in cost. I don’t know much about the company other than they have several JDM imports on Craigslist and have had (varying ones - currently mostly Nissans. One is a Pao!) for a while.
They’re definitely don’t have the attention to detail you are giving yours.

That Prado is amazing! I am beginning to see why you have bought so many different cars. Waiting sucks. Waiting for something interesting to buy sucks, and then knowing it will be two months before you see wield that sweet glorious Nippon steel also sucks.

The photos came back from the dealer. A bit more corrosion in the engine bay than I want to have when I know if I just *wait* for something better to show up at auction. The timing belt sticker shows the belt is only 24000kms old but also 15 years old. Yikes.

Agreed. That Prado came up while I was searching for RX-7 stuff. That kind of bull is why I typically use the "search in titles only" option. I've never understood the reasoning - "I'm searching for an sports car. Why yes! I'd love to look at a truck/tractor/random sedan!"

Yeah I'd pass on that one too, why is stuff like the dip stick so rusty?

Sold the two-door Pajero tonight to a guy who was down here visiting his parents. I had already put in an order for a set of KO2s so he's going to wait for them, buy them for what I paid for them, change the oil, mount the tires, and drive it all the way back to Connecticut. I told him that I'd advise him not to start his ownership with that sort of drive right from the start but he's excited to road trip  He's beyond smitten so I can't be too hard on him.

That means MORE SHOPPING, if I can hit the window just right I can get the Prado, Domingo and a third car all at once.

Something else I got along with that Delica manual was a fat stack of maintenance history for the convertible Jimny we have on the way. Specifically though these two papers stapled together are the most interesting:

It's 11 miles of highway. NE Indiana. I'm just looking at how goddamned cheap they are and I would be fine with a slightly dinged up one. There's an alternate, more direct route but they don't always plow right away. Allegedly it's only 2 minutes longer but I know that's not correct.

I still wouldn't and would instead take the alternate not-highway route. You're in a goddamned Jimny who gives a poo poo if they don't plow it?

Our current 2-door white Prado is an SX5 and only has one battery, which lines up with what you are saying. The picture you are thinking of is from the other PZJ70 LandCruiser we had, that was a dual-battery 24 volt system.

Ok awesome when you get Prado there is totally a spot that could fit another battery in that rear passenger side location is why I was wondering. I have a hose off the turbo that just ends open. Truck runs awesome and spools great just wondering if it was missing something

I'm assuming the new Prado we have on the way is going to have dual batteries since it is a EX5, which means (as far as I can find anyway) it's the highest trim level Prado of the time, though with a manual transmission and the narrow body. I should be back at the warehouse and I can take a look at our 2 door SX and see if I've got the same hose-off-the-turbo.
I do know there is a tube off the intake that looks like it's just open but it has an in-set metal plug that you can't see easily unless you look directly in the tube.

Here is a shot from when we first got it.

Oh this Prado is absolutely a dirty beast, it's always been the best beater in the world. We have a young guy who is trying desperately to get the funds together to buy it and he's bent on restoring it. He's a auto-body specialist in Miami, fitting.

That red arrow points to the termination with the weird metal plug that's sit in the end of that tube just below the frame cut off. I thought it was a loose tube open to the elements but if you actually look in it there is a plug there.

No problem.

The guy we sold the 2-door Pajero has fallen in love, hard, with the thing. He's got the oil changed (with a filter I provided ), some fresh new KO2s on it, cancelled his return flight home and plans on driving it up the east coast, road-trip camping. He lives in Connecticut. He is SO in love he invited my wife and I out for dinner tonight like, just to thank us.

If every sale was like this I could feel real good about people AND make money at the same time :v:

one to watch out for. I did not see this last night but it was here this morning. Got it translated:

5mt, ac, 5 digit odometer, mileage unverified, seats sunk and covers installed, ceiling liner loose, interior dirty, mirrors scratched, undercarriage surface rust, small chips in windshield, other dents and scratches

I told Yoshi to go ahead and get it inspected, only to find out that the auction was cancelled, so hoping it will come back up in the next couple of days.

It has a lot of what I want (decals, roof rack). The interior reupholstering is not my first choice but it looks to be done better than most at least. Fingers crossed.
