Revelations 1 has the Queen Zenobia as the main environment.
Dead Aim has a cruise ship, never played it.

6 has Ada infiltrate a sub or something iirc.
7 has the boat Mia was on.
Code Veronica has you in a little sub boat thing you raise with a ship’s wheel iirc.

6 also has you going onto a ship as multiple characters. I THINK it's even the location that turns into a hellish facescape but it's been a while.

It is the facescape.

Its also where Chris fails to stop china from getting hit with bow making missiles.

It’s this

Honestly they could have made it a much harder choice if you were made to doubt whether Mia had turned too far yet or not, and if Zoe was allowed her own segment and ending alt

I LOVE SEEING DEAD BABIES ON 𝕏, THE EVERYTHING APP. IT'S WORTH IT FOR THE FOLLOWING TAB.
The first half of every RE I've played has been more entertaining than the second half. I'd like to see them carry the formula and atmosphere to a new IP that isn't bound to the silly science.

edit: It's more like the first two thirds are better than the last.

Three level ultra sewers were a weird decision to make when you also have a gigantic underground lab AND an entire city to use as game real estate.

The flow of Gaiden is kind of bad in so far as going into the battle mode never feels smooth and the combat is the same "interactive but not fun" problem Zone of Enders: Fist of Mars had.

Y'know what, it's not.

Gaiden feels like somebody enjoyed Tidus's Overdrive in FFX so drat much that they made an entire game out of it, and that's weird, but it was a 2001 Game Boy Color game so you at least have to give it credit for making an attempt.

I don't even want to mention the Game.com RE2 "port" for similar reasons, because that is absolutely as good as could be expected.

The real worst game in the series is Umbrella Corps, and it's hard to imagine anything taking its title anytime soon. Survivor at least has a few good creepy moments in the files, RE0 is genuinely weird, CV is very much a product of its extremely janky era, and RE6 has the best Mercs mode in the series, but nothing about Umbrella Corps even really works.

In Training

The problem is that it is so forgettable people forget it's an option.

If they would have only held off a year or so, the battle royale fever would have started and UC could have been retooled into a fun game where you had to survive both the other players and hordes of undead and BOWs.

I will give ORC credit for one thing: I like the original characters. You could bring any or all of 'em back for a Revelations game or something and I'd be just fine with it.

If they ever decide to just do a full-on stealth game for some reason, Willow from ORC would be a natural choice for the protagonist.

If there's one positive thing I can say about ORC, it at least remembers that the Resident Evil universe plays fast and loose with technology. Like, Four Eyes has a weapon that fires mind control darts that can take over zombies, which somehow Shona also has despite almost certainly never running into anything related to Umbrella prior to Echo Six's deployment. Actually, scratch that; Echo Six having perfect copies of equipment/passive abilities that the Wolfpack have is just plain silly. But probably my favorite moment of "wait, how do you have this technology?" from that game is from Shona's character model:

He has a Totally Not An iPad. In 1998.

Yes.

Point being that the actual worst most lovely RE game is probably one of these mobile games or the game.com RE.

I know I'm splitting hairs here but if we're going to label a Resident Evil game as the actual worst it's one of these.

Also, almost no one has played all of them so who can know?

The events of raccoon city take place on a sliding scale of time far back from the present, but instead of the date of raccoon city moving up the flow of time speeds up so 1998 is now 2008

We don't need to have that dialogue because it's obvious, trivial, and has already been had a thousand times.
Okay, so far:
  • Gaiden (2001) takes place entirely on a luxury liner, the Starlight.
  • Code Veronica (2001) has a submarine in a contained dock as part of a simple item key puzzle. The entire contained narrative of the game is based on Claire being transported to Rockport Island by ship.
  • Resident Evil Dead Aim (2003) spends its entire first half/two thirds on the ocean liner Spencer Rain.
  • Resident Evil 4 (2005) has a bossfight on a rowboat against Del Lago. In the final, arguably weakest act of the game, on Saddler's island junk fort, there's a shipyard with a derelict ship of some sort being rebuilt that you traverse. This also makes an appearance in the Separate Ways campaign.
  • Resident Evil 5 (2009) has a bossfight against Ricardo Irving from a boat. A large late section of the game takes place on a freighter/tanker controlled by Wesker which appears to not have a name.
  • Resident Evil Revelations 1 (2012) involves a) the Queen Zenobia, a luxury liner, ultimately destroyed via self-destruct, b) the Queen Semiramis, an identical sister ship that is used for a decoy switcheroo plot twist, destroyed via self-destruct, and c) a third loving identical cruise ship, the Queen Dido, which was sunk via self-destruct before the players get there, forming the third act of the game.
  • Resident Evil 6 has a ton of boat shenanigans. Jake's campaign has a section in an underwater lab, but the real star is Ada Wong, who infiltrates a submarine at the start of her campaign and spends way too long on a freaking aircraft carrier controlled by "Neo-Umbrella". Chris's campaign involves both Ada's aircraft carrier and a second, separate Neo-Umbrella aircraft carrier, giving the bad guys a level of resourcing plausibility right out of The Force Awakens.
  • Resident Evil Revelations 2 (2015) is pretty universally panned, but it has no cruise liners, making it automatically better than Revelations 1. All it's got is a fishing village environment.
  • Resident Evil 7 (2017) spends most of its fun fun character switch area rehash padding time on the LNG cargo ship Annabelle, embedded in the Louisiana Bayou.

I'm sure there's more I'm missing, but so far that's a lotta boat

Chris' campaign. Not only does Chapter 4 start him off on one carrier (the one Ada later visits), he then finishes his chapter attacking a SECOND carrier (which has a full naval escort, no less) using a Harrier jet.
