I had a 7.3 cube van back in the day that lost all gears. I had a jasper rebuild installed that lasted until I sold the van. Jasper has the best nationwide warranty, and I have always heard via word of mouth they are the best at internal updates. This only applies if its stock. If its got big tires, a lift and a tuner I don’t know who makes the best. Maybe a manual swap, but the engine calibration is different between the two, and I would imagine the driveshaft is as well. Personally I wouldn’t mess with it, but I am not a 7.3 fan after owning a LBZ duramax.

The missus actually didn't mind it that much when she texted me back, the open layout was really nice and the accents gave it a lot of character. Apparently it just needs a completely different color scheme and to sort out its 15 different light sources, but it's not a bad bathroom Then I asked again in person to make sure she was talking about the same bathroom that I was looking at, and she thought it was a very nice render that I had done while dicking around in Solidworks. After I explained to her that it was a real bathroom that someone made for a wife that doesn't exist/isn't his, she wouldn't say anything more specific about it other than, "no, that's terrible" while laughing E: I guess I should take the compliment on my own design skills, but the more I look at it, the more rendered it really looks. STR BITCHING INCOMING. Well, first thing isn't bitching. SiriusXM. What kind of retention offers do you guys get, if any of you use them? I'm on a streaming plan; originally a 3 month freebie from T-Mobile Tuesdays, then as the end date approached, they kept sending better and better offers. Finally bit on the $30 for 6 months offer (which seems to be the best they can do). Am I likely to get something close to that again? Originally it was for Stern, but their music channels are pretty good. Bitching: Got our renewal notice today. Rent's going up. A lot ($85/mo). I expected that, but that increase puts it pretty firmly out of my reach if I were to take over the lease myself unless I dropped the garage. It's still less than what they advertise this unit for. GF swears up and down she can find a house for the same price. I keep reminding her it's been 9 years since she lived in a house and that rents have gone up more than a bit. "NOT THAT MUCH, MY LAST HOUSE WAS ONLY $1100/MO". I've been in that house before when visiting Austin; at the time, it was a nice house that was a little neglected. It's well over $2000/mo now according to Zillow, farrrrr out in the sticks, and looking a lot rougher these days (I had a delivery down the street from it, and recognized the street, current tenants clearly don't keep up with any yardwork, roof is in obvious disrepair as well). You MIGHT find a run down mobile home in Pflugerville for <$1200/mo (plus lot rental). I emphasise "run down". I don't want to live in Peeville. She sort of agreed that moving is really expensive, and said we could talk about renewing here. I loving hate TurboTax right now. It decided that my getting a new car was a deductible business expense... even though it's a personal vehicle that I mostly use for work, and it wanted to fully depreciate my old car as well. I've been trying for loving DAYS to fix it. The "Clear & Start Over" doesn't work, since I've already "paid" for TurboTax Self Employed (apparently you can still use that option if you haven't paid yet) (one of my 1099 jobs paid for it, but the coupon had been applied). I finally just started deleting every tax form I could until it let me start over. And even then, it would "see" that the other forms were there, but wasn't actually applying them. I'm not 100% on if I can actually depreciate the old car or not; it WAS primarily used for work for 3 years, and it was sold for scrap value (though insurance did pay me a fair figure for it, I just don't remember what they gave me). If I can actually legally depreciate it, then I'm up for it. Anything to drop that nearly $2000 number down a bit. Annnnnnnd now my taxes owed went from $800 to $2000, with an indicated negative tax rate.  TurboTax keeps getting stuck in loops now, probably because I deleted documents instead of doing it "the proper way" (which wouldn't work, that would also get it stuck in loops). Intuit's support is about as useless as snorting lines of asbestos. Between that and the major issues I've had with Quickbooks Self Employed (and the equally useless support), I'm probably switching up how I do taxes and record keeping ASAP. My dad is a CPA, says Turbotax usually does a good job for most people, but when it fucks up, it fucks up good and proper. I sent him a PDF to get a second set of eyes on it before I file.Remember the debit card incident I mentioned last night? Remember I said my bank had a branch down the road? Yeah, uh, they converted it into a "cafe" (that should immediately identify it as Capital One), and no longer have any B&M branches in Texas (except for Dallas and Houston). They have no cash on site aside from what's in the ATMs, no tellers, you can't do jack poo poo there except sit on a couch, grab some lovely coffee, and discuss basic finances with a very likely underpaid suit. The best they could do for me was give me a cashier's check to take to my other bank, and waive the normal charge for said check. They don't handle "online only accounts" (uh, wut, I opened it at a branch...). The person giving me the check said I should look into Zelle so I can move money between Wells Fargo and Capital One until I get my new card. Problem is... their own Zelle verification process requires that you have a postpaid cellphone in your name. Mine is postpaid, but it's through a business reseller instead of direct from T-Mobile, so I can't use that for verification. I finally got around it by downloading Zelle's own app, and changing my phone # on one of the accounts (2 Google Voice #s, 2 physical numbers, so I have a couple to pick from...). So at least when my paycheck hits tomorrow, I can Zelle myself some cash.The whole thing has me considering moving back to Wells Fargo for my primary banking. Except... they're WF. Even the teller at WF was saying Capital One's checking/savings offerings are generally better for the average person (and CapOne's ATMs that will happily dispense $500 in any denomination you want, including singles, are awesome). This is my first hiccup with CapOne since I switched to them, I just hope the new card shows up soon. Except it was a 40 minute drive to them because... rush hour. Why the gently caress they sent the order to 2 restaurants with multiple locations...... and sent them to the ones 15 miles away, during rush hour.  On regular orders, there's no penalty for being late. On catering, there's a big penalty (we get +/- 10 minutes; the dispatchers get hit much harder than the drivers, but we can be booted from catering if we're consistently early or late) - I barely made it within the grace period. Then later in the night, I had a restaurant employee flat out tell me "we never got the orders, and I ain't got no time to deal with you right now" after I'd been waiting almost 30 minutes already (when the orders were already late when I got there). I had a very polite, but not nice, chat with the GM over that one, and I've asked the area manager for the delivery company I work for to "ban" me from there. I've never had an order from there go smoothly. And they still left out half of one order, after I read them the order from my delivery app (and had them repeat it back to me) (I should have double checked it before leaving, but (a) I'm not supposed to open any bags because of the lack of a food handlers permit, and (b) how the gently caress do you leave out the entree and only include bread and mashed potatoes?!?). The order after that? I get there to pick it up... customer service is already blowing up my phone before I pull into the parking lot. "Oh... that order. i just now saw it on the tablet, and the kitchen's closed, sorry". Turns out the customer had even talked to the manager to make a modification to her order, so the to-go person was supposed to be watching for the order (which came in 33 minutes before the kitchen closed).This week has sucked badly so far. I think tomorrow I'm gonna drop my food delivery hours and do grocery delivery instead. That's the nice thing about having five on-demand jobs to choose from; when one sucks, I have four others to pick from. But usually this one is my solid $800+ a week one. Dad decided to drive his Tesla 3 to Key Largo this week for some scuba diving before he meets us in Pensacola. I've been tracking his progress and he's been giving me updates but I woke up this morning to one I didn't expect. Average over the 840 remaining miles to Key Large was 60 mph. And no stressing over where the next supercharger was. Kind of surprising but I can't blame him. A trip he usually does in two days at around 1800 miles ended up bring three long days with a decent amount more miles and a lot of sitting around waiting. He left at 5am Monday morning and arrived ~11pm Wednesday night. Cold weather at the start of his trip, -7f when he left, cut his initial range around 30% which didn't help things either. It'll be interesting to see what his thoughts on the car is now after this experiment.

The Tesla 3 is not marketed as a cross-country tourer, it's marketed as a luxury electric car with a 200 mile range. You know, when I started the February chat thread, I had no idea all of the nonsense that was going to transpire. It's been one hell of a month in AI. But one thing struck me over the past couple days -- I "know" some of you guys on fb and texts and dms. I've even met a couple of you. As I see some stupid poo poo in my RL go down, I realized that a lot of you guys are better people than I know in my real life, and I appreciate that. Now someone start a March thread and get this hosed up month over with.
