The Perlman makeup seemed to use his natural features a lot more, allowing the makeup to be as unobtrusive as possible. This version seems to be much more restrictive and Harbour appears to only be able to make like two different faces with it.

I feel like they should have just painted Harbour's fave red and gave him maybe a slightly bigger jaw and that would have been enough, but his forehead is doing weird things. I aim to see the movie because I like Hellboy enough that I want to support Big Red but he's funky looking for sure.

Did Eddie Murphy have a contract stipulation so the posters for his movies had to be on plain white backgrounds with bright red text? There's a decade between some of these movies, so I don't think it's just a trend for advertising comedies.

That was/is a trend with lovely comedies. Eddie Murphy posters aren't unique in that regard. I feel like the marketing department was trying to warn us. Fake edit: A challenge: Show me a poster of a "good" comedy from the past 20 years with the red-text-over-white-background. Bet you can't find one.

Okay, "good" was in quotes because obviously it's subjective but even though I didn't care for that film it doesn't really qualify since there's more to it than red text on a white background and a simple image to go along with it. It is still better than any of those Eddie Murphy monstrosities though.
