True, but I think the question is really more about what his actions, motivations, and mental state were. There's no doubt that he had incredibly weird, suspect relationships with young boys and that has been out in the open for years. The things described in Leaving Neverland aren't really surprising in the least. I think it's good to go in with a neutral mindset because he was exonerated in court and other people have stated that their experiences weren't the same and the guy is dead. In the end it's extremely damning though. I can't really come up with a single good reason to believe all of it isn't completely true. Also loving Christ, Wade's mom is such an epically terrible human being.

I watched the first episode of Ricky Gervais' new show on Netflix, After Life, about a guy whose wife dies of cancer and he is struggling to find a reason to keep going. But his primary coping mechanisms are drinking heavily and being a belligerent rear end in a top hat. It's possible that I just have a soft spot for bleak comedies about misanthropes, but I enjoyed what I saw.

This looks great. I'm not familiar with the source material, but it does remind me of how much I enjoy the stupid, stupid show that is The Magicians, which I consider to be extremely binge-able (Netflix). I guess it's the right kind of stupid for me. "Solo" is also on Netflix, and I think it holds up well when rewatching. You can ignore the groan-worthy moments better (origin of his name, mainly) and the rest of the movie is legit fun. I might just have terrible taste, though.

There's no "proof" but there is so much smoke and this isn't a court of law. The dude is dead- yeah he doesn't get to "defend" himself but the man wanted other people's children in his bed and wanted access to his bedroom extremely controlled while they were there.

Did humans test CBS all access on a browser? Star Trek Discovery mini review - Starts out strong then farts all over its A and B and C plots then chops them up and and forgets what part goes where when it tapes it back to a weak whole. Also its rated M for some reason and 95% of the time forgets to justify that rating so it tosses in some nudity and F bombs All in all better then Enterprise and Voyager - Eat poo poo Neelix

If you're in the US, have a library card, and your local library system has a subscription, Kanopy is a fantastic free streaming service. They have a lot of Criterion Collection (though that might be going away once their dedicated service launches), a lot of indies and a whole fuckton of obscure foreign stuff. And "Death Bed, The Bed That Eats People" from that one Patton Oswalt bit.

I thought Triple Frontier was pretty interesting because it really portrays the protagonists as sociopathic shitheads and doesn't do much to obscure that aspect of them. Their actions are mostly depicted as unambiguously bad and criminal, but they themselves keep on with their noble warrior schtick to the very end. You don't see a whole lot of movies like that, especially with big stars like Isaac and Affleck.

Any merit to that? Maybe, but the biggest point in favor of that argument would probably be the casting itself. Like, you don't expect Affleck to play a stone-cold mass murderer who goes completely unhinged the moment he steps back into combat, and it's a really effective subversion of expectations when that happens. Most of the violence is really not presented in a badass way. It's mostly people being executed for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even the main "bad guy" that they're robbing is really not established as particularly evil except for the fact that he's referred to as a cartel boss.

I thought triple frontier was solid. It definitely walks a line between condemning the characters actions and them being “badass” It went in a general direction I wasn’t really expecting. I’d imagine anyone who likes action movies will enjoy it.

Love, Death & Robots is mixed, but the highs are really high. I haven't watched them all yet, but SUITS is my favorite. Country farmers + mechs is a genre mashup I didn't know I needed. THREE ROBOTS was great also.

It's mostly just trawling for Woke Points. Only one so far (GOOD HUNTING, with the Chinese shape-shifting spirits) came across as "icky" in an exploitative way. THE WITNESS comes close - it's mentioned in the review, the main character is a stripper and is nearly nude for the entire short - but it has a lot of style and I liked the story, and painted one of those all-too-close near-futures where it's overcrowded and no one really cares about each other. Edit: Reviews Sonnie's Edge - The creature fight was brutal, but lacked some tactile feedback. I liked the double twist ending. There's a message here but I'm not sure if I understand it fully. Suits - Absolutely the best of the bunch, if you watch just one, start with this one. Country farmers fending off aliens with scarecrow-style mechs. The final shot confused me, though. Why farm there? Sucker of Souls - Got some Venture Brothers vibes, but more edgy, and not in a good way. When the Yogurt Took Over - It's a cute short without much meaning, but then again it's about sentient yogurt, so.... Beyond the Aquila Rift - Stopped just as it got interesting, and it was one of the longer ones. Good Hunting - Might be the worst one. The plot was everywhere and it felt like someone's excuse to draw their transformation fetish OCs. The Dump - I liked it. Pretty clear what was happening from the get-go, but still good. Shape-Shifters - Some kind of commentary on discrimination in the military with... werewolves. Helping Hand - Trapped in space stuff freaks me out. Fish Night - What did I just watch? Lucky 13 - One of the few where I was satisfied with the story being wrapped up. Zima Blue - Very interesting, can't really talk about it without spoiling it though. Blindspot - This looked like it was designed to sell action figures. Ice Age - It's a Tiny Civilization story where they advance at 100000x the speed. Simpsons did it, Futurama did it, and this one doesn't bring anything new to the table, but the effects were good. Alternate Histories - I never thought I'd be bored watching Hitler die over and over. Good animation though. The Secret War - Sometimes I'll see a short film and think the creator played a video game and just wanted to make their own version of that. This is just a generic action/shooter game cutscene. The preview for Sonnie's Edge really grabbed me -- I liked the aesthetic, the music -- but the writing is so loving bad I tapped out without even finishing the whole 17-minute episode. Just atrocious. I hadn't realized at first it was an anthology series, but if that's what they lead with I don't think I'm interested.
