And the mercy seat is awaiting,
And I think my head is burning,
And in a way I'm yearning,
To be done with all this measuring of proof.
An eye for an eye
And a tooth for a tooth,
And anyway I told the truth,
And I'm not afraid to die.
Random question: what would you like to see for a modern version of like the idea of combining rock/metal with rap that lead to the Judgement Night, Chef Aid and Spawn sountracks?

It's been decades and both genres have shifted a lot but that weird sort of "this is wtf but its awesome" still holds a place in my heart.

I was having a bath and like the only thing I could think that was in a similar vein was when Danny Brown on Old had the track with Purity Ring, which ruled, but nothing else comes to mind. I want Denzel Curry with Rammstein god drat it.

your op on danny was the worst take i've seen in a long time but i'm glad you're looking to get well. report back after you've listened to xxx, then give atrocity exhibition a listen and see where you're at then. ae might be a bit rough on the first listen, but if you don't get it first time try again every six months or so, you'll come around to it being the absolute masterpiece that it is and as far as i'm concerned the final word on the trappings of fame and fortune. drat i wish i could listen to his albums for the first time again.

not real rap rock sorry but that era had rappers mixed with electronica also, yeah i could've phrased that better and it was just more "what are out there bands that slap them together and they make awesome"

ah i'm with you i think. not sure how many bands focus on these fusions, they tend to be one-off collaborative projects but one that springs to mind was the gorillaz album 'humanz' which featured vince staples, pusha, danny, de la soul, and like a million others. but yeah mostly just loosies.

thnking of the danny / purity ring collab reminded me of this dude i've never heard of rapping over a grimes song and i always loved it. can't remember what it was called though.

e: found it. don't care what anyone says it's a great track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf7xjZh9uRs

i'd be fine with a one off collab album, like the soundtrack albums were one offs but where else can you find p diddy with system of a down, or slayer and ice-t, or mudhoney with sir mix-a-lot

the most recent case i can think of which isnt even in hip-hop/rock is Grimes recently bringing back numetal into electro pop of all things - so "what the gently caress" but so awesome

Though new material from A Tribe Called Quest is out of the question, Q-Tipis still at work on a host of different musical projects, including a project with Danny Brown.

Q-Tip revealed his involvement with the Detroit MC during a guest appearance on Elton John's Rocket Hour show on Beats 1 radio, XXL reports. Brown also appeared to confirm the news by sharing a screengrab on Instagram, which you can find below.

Brown's forthcoming album, which has yet to be officially announced, will mark his first since 2016's Atrocity Exhibition. In November of 2017, the rapper revealed he was at work on a follow-up effort, telling Complex that the album was "being produced by one producer, who's legendary in hip-hop. And it's gonna be a big deal."

Yeah I'm hype as gently caress for that project but my dream project from him would be a joint album with Purity Ring. There's something that works so well about the contrast from his rough vocals and the angelic singing and beats
