I use Firefox on my phone because Chrome mobile doesn't support extensions (uBlock Origin) for some reason. I don't do much browsing on my phone but it works ok most of the time. I upgraded to 1809 recently. Since then, every time the computer boots I get a message in the notification center saying there's a problem with my Microsoft account. No real info, just "there's a problem". I use a local account, so I'm not sure what it's complaining about. The only thing tied to my Microsoft account is the mail app and that works completely fine. Anyone got a clue what that could be? Google'ing "there's a problem with my microsoft account" doesn't really give any useful info.

Anyone have any ideas why Excel keeps launching at boot? Always a blank workbook, not a recovered one. It started a few weeks ago and I have no loving clue why. No obvious culprits in the Startup tab.

Hit the Start button and type Start and there should be a Startup Apps setting. See if Excel is in there. Otherwise you can do a repair install and see if that fixes it.

Sounds like a regional thing because I've never signed into OneDrive on my machine or been harassed by it - it's not even running in the background and I have full green ticks across Security.

TBF, I wasn't sure given past experience with Intel if this was a particular problem with DCH or with Intel's DCH drivers in specific. Both seemed believable.

If it's not, you might have problems. My OEM Intel graphics drivers seem to get released on a yearly basis, the last one was a month ago but the actual driver version is pretty old. If I want to just update to a newer one, I'll have to change over to a DCH version, because that's all they have now. But what if there are issues? What if it doesn't play well with Optimus or the OEM colour management software? What if rolling back ends up a nightmare, I regret even trying, and things are still messed up because I can't get everything back to the original state?

I believe their announcements also say that they're not going to issue DCH drivers for chips before 6th-generation Core processors and their associated graphics chipsets. So it may not even be a question for you.

Nah it's 7th gen and there are a good year or two of updates, I'm just real leery about installing a non-OEM driver I can't roll back reliably (and not because Dell don't gently caress up, more because even they manage to run into issues with this, really don't want to tempt fate)
