I honestly have no idea what's going on with the MCU Netflix shows.

Netflix forbids their cancelled shows from showing up on another streaming platform for 3 years. The series are dead dead dead, and if there wasn't any incentive to cross-pollinate the characters when there was an active series you could drive eyeballs to, there is unlikely to be any incentive to do so now.

The first season of Daredevil was the only good one anyways. Everything else was either middling or trash.

Jessica Jones 1 was pretty good and said good things, it just had 5 too many episodes.

Watching Infinity War (and Endgame will be the same) was like watching Tekken or Mortal Kombat with more photo-realistic graphics; two guys fighting in front of background that changes colors and themes, but it's just an artificial screensaver you know you can't interact with and has no impact in the story.

I mean if you wanted an honest answer to that question I imagine it would be something along the lines of "why the gently caress would we bother putting that kind of effort into these things when they make giant loving piles of money and fans eat it up no matter what?" I mean seriously, what incentive do they possibly have to divert from the formula when only a handful of film critics and film nerds on an increasingly obscure internet forum are the only people that care?

Not that I disagree with you, mind, I just imagine that's probably as close to an honest answer you could get.

At some point if they want to keep making these movies, some fresh ideas need to come from somewhere.

Then again I liked Infinity War so maybe not.

Oh, I know they're making a hojillion dollars, and, hell, I liked Infinity War. You can already see some of how they're working to keep things vital by rolling up other genres into the brand katamari.

Lets be honest, the biggest reason the Marvel Netflix shows won't get picked up anywhere is because they all had turned into garbage by the time they were cancelled, with the possible exception of Punisher. Punisher was decent.

Nah, Punisher was stretched. Also, everythng they did with Russo in the second season was dumb as poo poo. Plus, the fight scenes were inconsistently budgeted with no relation to their actual significance in the story.

My unprovable conspiracy theory is that Thor 3 and GOTG2 were fighting a guerilla war against MCU color grading by making the bright colored parts utterly bananas to try to compensate for the blacks being outlawed.

The results were very mixed but at least better than Avengers/Age of Ultron/Winter Soldier/Civil War/etc., etc.

The CGI in those movies is extremely colorful, then you look at anything that was actually filmed on the day, and it's back to drained colours. Star Lord's purple cloak being a muddy grey is a perfect example.

Its my understanding that the ultimate fear of the rich white guy is that someone will take their money away from them, even if its a tiny tiny amount that they wont notice. Rich white guys cannot even fathom the idea of living in anything resembling poverty. The idea behind my statement is that these rich white guys are starting to realize that their reign might be coming to an end at some point in the future. At least thats me being optimistic.

For the record I would be totally fine with sacrificing Jeff Bezos to the elder gods to solve world hunger.

Maybe for Notch but that's because the guy knows his ill gotten gains were built off of the backs of others and he himself isn't a spectacular wonderkid.

The real fear of the rich is someone having more than they do and feeling inadequate as a result.

This is a bit of a fallacy, it’s true for “the rich” but it’s not the case with the actual rich; the ones who have kicked the stone down the road telling us that they’re good people helping simple honest yacht-building folk get by.

People who own nice cars and mega mansions were rich. They’re less rich now, by about as much money as it takes to buy a nice car or a mega mansion. The truly rich would just keep hoarding that money.
