School Life is even less canon than normal because those are all fan submissions. I assume Nasu isn't interested in Rot3K characters because they're just so drat overused in most media. He doesn't use Sengoku characters either. Nobu and co. are written by Keikenchi. Remember he skipped doing a more classical Count of Monte Cristo specifically because he didn't want to double up with Gankutsuou. It's also the probable reason why the most famous characters tend to have weirder representations. (Which really pisses some fans off lol) W.T. Fits posted:Ah, my mistake. It's nice to see non-standard portrayals of various historical and mythological figures that play against what the audience knows about them from history or the stories they're originally from. Even when they're portrayed as being villains in the story, they're often given sympathetic or understandable motivations for why they act the way they do, so they come across as more well-rounded characters than just stock villain archetypes.

Chuuni Edmond Dantes is honestly one of my favorite portrayals of the character due to how out of wack it is but it still keeps it in line with the origin of the character being the ur-avenger in fiction

It's really easy to forget that Altera the giant space lady is connected to Attila the hun. I really don't care about which particular historical spirits are actually in so faithful 1:1 recreations of real historical people are extremely boring. Give me more Berserker Nightingale and Avenger Salieri. The stranger portrayals of servants are better, the weird half of the SIN servants definitely are better for their weirdness.
