RE4 is somewhere in the middle, you can tell that she has a mixed background. Same in RE6, she's pretty recognizably based on her RE4 appearance there. In RE2make, she looks outright Japanese - more so than Chinese, really, which I think is actually a pretty good take on the impression her old model in the original gave me. IIRC, RE4 Ada doesn't have a face model at all; she's just made up from whole cloth by the original renderer. RE6 and Damnation had an entirely Caucasian model named Ty Brenneman. For the new RE Engine, they changed face models again. The new one is a Japanese/Brazilian model named Adriana. On the one hand, had I known about this last month I might have used this instead of getting the Save Wizard. On the other hand, my Save Wizard play through with Infinite Magnum rounds and Grenades to get S+ ranks was really fun. On the third hand, I can now cheat at other games and really annoy the "True Gamers." So I stand by my decision.

According to some guy on Resetera the unlock all bonus stuff DLC was found on SteamDB back in Feb along with two other mystery DLC packages. The same guy found out about the Not a Hero DLC for RE7 before it was officially announced so seems to have a good track record; also RE7 also had mystery DLC packages set up months before they released. Looks like there might still be some RE2 content on the way?

I'm not good enough to really do the unlocks for the unlimited weapons, I'm fine with paying $5 for something that honestly makes the game more playable for me.

They announced that poo poo literally the day after I finally got my Hardcore S+ with Claire. Whatever, I immediately restarted the game in Standard and ran through it in an hour forty wrecking all manner of poo poo with the minigun I'd just earned and it was the most rewarding gaming experience I've had in a long time. If I weren't anywhere near the Claire S+ right now, I'd absolutely be buying that DLC.

Im glad I did both Leon and Claire S+ because it completely changed how I played the game and it was quite a rush.

Yeah, as frustrating as that experience was, it definitely made me view and play the game much differently. By far, the hardest part of a Hardcore S+ is the lack of saves. Even in its hardest mode the game throws way more ammo and health at you than you need, and gives you ample opportunity to avoid a lot of confrontation (for example: as has been said a bunch now, you literally don't need to fight a single licker). It's extremely well tuned.

Yeah, I just finished my first S+ mode run, though it was Leon A on Standard. It's a completely different game when instead of painstakingly exploring and being startled / unnerved by everything, you're instead.... sprinting nonstop from objective to objective and drowning in ammo because there's really no need to kill anything when you know exactly which hallways you'll be coming back through and which you won't. Honestly, there's pretty much no reason to kill anything once you know the layout well enough; it usually takes more effort to slow down long enough to kill something than it does to just stun it and move on, and there are almost no rooms you need to enter more than, say, three times at max. Ivy Zombies are like the quintessential example; why bother killing them (which takes like a minute) when a single well-placed pistol shot stuns them more than long enough to slip by? That being said I still only pulled 2:27. It's progress, but I'm going to have to up my game again if I want to S+ hardcore. Still having a blast, though. At this point, the game has completely switched from horror to action. Funny how it transforms as you figure out what you're doing.

Fooling around with RE '96 when against all common sense I decided to give Jill a flamethrower. And it works! https://i.imgur.com/jZDWGpN.mp4 Though due to texturing issues (you're not supposed to have that thing anywhere but Underground!), it does look a bit like a giant blocky dick. Wielding it looks awkward; aiming staight ahead looks like it's pointed slightly down, as if it's too front-heavy and Jill isn't strong enough to lift it properly. Weirdly, Jill's idle animation while holding the weapon is the same as Chris' animation for all long weapons. https://i.imgur.com/jbdR3nq.mp4 In turn, Chris can get his mitts on the bazooka, where it'll behave itself and have a working texture. His idle animation doesn't change, however: Other poo poo I've toyed with includes alternate ammo for the Colt Python: They loving suck against the dogs; one of them took THREE of these "DUMDUM" rounds to put down. Zombies are still one-shot wonders. And then there's this useless loving thing: Accurate description. It's not even a named item!

Meanwhile, back in ancient times where I'm still fooling around doing dumb things with this old game, it turns out that in RE '96 the big man Chris is just as inept at holding the Flamethrower as Jill seems to be, with the same awkward 'muzzle pointing down' posture, so that's not just some unfinished model weirdness for her scenario. Who'd have guessed that low resolutions and far-away camera positions would be so good at hiding that! The flamethrower *doesn't* look like a big blocky dick when Chris has it equipped though, even if it's while running around like an idiot in the mansion or anywhere else that isn't the underground. At this point I'm not sure if it's a texture or palette thing which causes the weapon to look so weird when Jill uses it (even underground), but in either case the Bazooka doesn't look like some sort of meat-coloured horror show in Chris' story, which is another mystery in itself. Maybe he was able to acquire it in earlier versions (while still getting the dumb flamethrower "puzzle" just to take up even more inventory space in all of three rooms), only for the devs to say "nah!" and leave him with only two main weapons for some 60% of the game without removing the texture or whatever the gently caress it is that allows it to appear normal ingame. Sequence breaking is also not recommended outside of taking the most direct, cutscene-free path toward where you want to go. I learned that the hard way after trying to access the second Yawn battle immediately after getting the Lockpick from Barry, only for the game to poo poo the bed during the door-opening load screen and freeze completely (with lots of "65535" being spat out in the console). Oh, and speaking of Lockpicks, Chris having it in his inventory doesn't change anything; he still needs the Sword Key and Small Keys.

Of course. Chris isn't a master of unlocking. He can't use a lock pick. Speaking of cut content, there is this video of a Laser Weapon from ReMake I remember floating around the early 2000's internet. Does anyone know anything more about it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJBpQYr-Dh0

RE2 is my first resident evil since 5. I was really enjoying it but then Tyrant showed up. He’s not even scary just annoying, and killed my desire to play more of this...is he only in this little part or do I have to deal with him for the rest of the game

If you know the game sequence from the point where he first shows up, you only need to deal with him for 30 minutes or less. On your first attempt, it will be (or at least feel like it is) longer, but as soon as you leave the station again, you're rid of him permanently.

Yeah he's more there to pressure you a bit but he's generally pretty easy to run around. Don't let it spoil the game for you, soon he will disappear and you won't have to worry about him again until he makes the best surprise entrance ever back in the prison

You also don't have to deal with him in any save rooms or puzzle rooms. Well, rooms containing the sad excuses RE2make has in place of puzzles, anyway. Basically, he's at most a bother while you're moving from point A to point B.
