It's good. At first I was a little worried about the changes from the comics and cartoon, particularly regarding the wacky heroes and villains, but the show really works. In the older ones you had villains like Chairface Chippendale who were fun but a dude with a chair for a head probably wouldn't work well in live action, and a lot of the minor heroes who were only there to make you laugh (Die Fledermous, Bipolar Bear, Paul the Samurai etc.) have been replaced with a cast of middle-aged but still competent and not quite over-the-hill compatriots. They also actually help, as opposed to in the comics where they'd just hang out at the cafe all day and try to pass off stdh.txt as real. The Terror and Joan of Arc are great foils too, although I would like to see a flashback of The Terror punching out Teddy Roosevelt like he did in the comics.

Got around to watching Bodyguard on Netflix. Pretty solid series. The last episode or two were good enough to recommend watching the whole season. Good crime / terrorist drama.

It's not meritless, but it feels like about 2 hours of content dragged out over 10 hours and frequently dips into feeling like a WB show or something.

Just finished Dead to Me on Netflix. I don't get emotionally invested in shows anymore, or surprised by many, but drat. I don't even know what I expect out of a second second but I wish there was even one more wrap-up episode.

Mixed feelings on Suspiria. I absolutely could not get over the goofy old man makeup on Tilda Swinton and the whole movie felt kind of up it's own rear end tbh. There was some individual scenes I really liked but ehhh.

Yeah, they plan for a cliffhanger ending at the end of each episode, and they also foreshadow that twist each episode, so it becomes very predictable. They have an actual Chekov's Gun in the show.

I still liked the show mostly based on the performances.

Feeling kinda bummed out and trying to decide what movie I should get baked and watch, I知 in the mood for something light and distracting, and I致e narrowed it down to

Observe and Report
Harry and the Hendersons
Solo
The Man Who Knew Too Little

Anyone think any of those are particularly worth watching on an actual tv instead of my laptop for once

Speaking of insanely dope movies, Elite Squad is on amazon prime. I saw part 2 years ago and loved it, part 1 is very good as well. Only one minor issue is mid 2000s style quick cuts make the subtitles a little hard to follow at first.

However Cox's Repo Chick is almost a sequel to Repo Man but should not be watched under any circumstances. The entire film is actors delivering flat lines in front of a green screen. I'd like to say the whole thing is a critique of the Star Wars prequels but that might be giving the movie too much credit.

I bought it on release off the strength of Tony Head in a musical but khan bent watched it too many times. The music is just really uneven.

It's one variation. He seems to toss out a pseudo-sequel every now and then. He wrote a comic book in '08 called Waldo's Hawaiian Holiday. Otto (who now calls himself Waldo) returns to Earth after 10 years on Mars. He discovers Los Angeles has been used as a prison by Martians. It's a limited run comic and my curiosity in reading it does not outweigh what I am sure is a ridiculous comic nerd's collector markup.

Harry and the Hendersons or Solo imo.

Observe and Report is a harder movie than it gets credit for. Not the usual seth rogan comedy.

I had seen it years ago on Comedy Central, completely forgot about it. When they added it to Netflix, I watched it with two friends on a lark. We figured it'd be a silly comedy to laugh at. It won us over pretty quickly, and we all unironically enjoyed it throughout. Great cast and plenty of funny gags.

I haven't watched it in 10+ years, but I remember me and my wife laughing our asses off. It was critically panned (Ebert gave it one star), but comedy movies are the one type of movie that critics get wrong more than others. I might have to give this a re-watch.
