My favorite part of the court hearing: the judge literally asking "Well, why am I here?"

When the judge is basically paraphrasing Talking Heads, it's kind of legally open-and-shut.

Edit: there might be a stay, pending appeal, but it's still a loss

I mean the long and short is the Judge said straight out of the gate that they are not likely to win this on constitutional grounds, period. And the Congressional Counsel knows the law, Trumps lawyer is flailing to try to find any way to paint this as a personal attack, but Ramos says even if it was, this is within the legal rights to congress to do.

Yeah the judge is just dumpstering every Trump argument here, except for the "irreparable harm" thing because once the records are given, that bell can't be unrung. He might not even stay this thing.

Not sure that the Trump team expected the courts to be dumping his lawsuits so quickly.

I don't think he's going to stay it, it sounds like he's saying there's really no grounds for this, even with the 'irreparable harm', because due to what we know about Deutsche and Mueller's investigation already, the bell HAS been rung.

I think largely because most of the 'bad' is already an open secret. What's the stay, there's nothing legally to save: Trump is trying to save something that is already dead.

Hopefully it passes more than 10 days before the summer recess.

Or gets passed in the Senate after the summer recess. A pocket veto only works if Congress isn't in session 10 days after the bill is signed. A bill that the president doesn't sign while Congress is in session automatically becomes law after 10 days.
