I forgot about the Mr Potatohead thing. They got all mad over a harmless prank, it's not like someone partially dismantled him and hid part of him somewhere else on the ship.

Doesn't Disney own the show now?

This is awesome. It's too bad their Star Trek one got killed. I hope they at least rip off being able to walk around the ship for a Bridge Crew sequel. (and announce a Bridge Crew sequel)

Am I the only not really interested in an Orville walkaround game like that? The sets are more placid and boring than even the Enterprise-D and none of them stand out at all except maybe the one with the spiral staircase.

I do wonder how much of their modeling of the ship is pure guesswork, like that (amazing) grand stairwell. The ENT-D had endless technical manuals and discussions over 30 years, but has there really been any kind of schematic or anything of any kind for the orville released?

There hasn't been any sort of full schematic I've seen, though there was some art book I think.

I am 100% sure Seth has made one. Now that he knows about the project I wouldn't be surprised if he sent it to them to use.

Or the other way around -- I could totally see Seth exploring the 3D model, finding some cool-looking room, and looking into building it as a set.

I realized that I have no idea how big the Orville is, beyond it showing up as a smaller ship than others we've seen. It seems to be pretty cozy from what I saw in that 3D model though.

yeah it’s surprising how close in it is. makes sense why they make so much use of the holodeck (full disclosure that tried to autocorrect to homosexual and I thought of the moclan orgy and laughed way too much)

The one background graphic from the set, shows some interesting spaces I'd love to see in the show, but if they never have the budget or get around to it, then at least in the 3d model those guys are making. Like, in particular that 3 story arboretum looking place next to the holodeck:

I was going to say I didn't like the huge spiral staircase in the fan model. Was going to say "It seems like they extrapolated from the single small spiral staircase that thus every staircase in the ship must be one, and their huge one just doesn't look right"

But there it is in the cross-section.

I think you're interpreting the horizontal line in the middle of a deck to be a floor. Look at the bridge for scale.
