The Polish is better, but I think that the humble Costco food court dog is genuinely one of the tastiest hot dogs around. Granted I don't live in NYC or Chicago or someplace where hot dog opinions can get you stabbed, but compared to like an Oscar Meyer it's super flavorful.

The only way to get stabbed for a hot dog opinion in Chicago is to attempt to put ketchup on it and I’d argue at that point and the stabber was acting to protect you? Like a 5150 thing?

Speaking of dogs, bought the big container of kraut at Costco. I don't like it as much as the TJ's one, but its still good. Just not quite as garlicky.

Went to Costco expecting to get a hotdog but I walked out with the store-made “Chicken Street Tacos” instead (new-ish thing found over in the meat section). Somebody else was picking one up and said the cilantro sauce that comes with it was amazing. Verdict: tacos were good. Cilantro sauce was not life-changing. Chicken was tender, the fajitas weren’t dry, etc. I don’t think it’s going to win any awards for value but I guess you’re paying for the convenience. Not sure I’d pick it up again but I don’t regret trying it.

Thanks for the washer dryer shopping advice earlier. We’re settling in and found a used appliance shop nearby. Spouse and I went to Target recently. He wanted to pick up a bottle of isopropyl alcohol AND IT WAS $2.59. I asked if he wanted to wait until we go to Costco to buy it for about a buck cheaper. HE SAID YES. Can’t wait to pick up rubbing alcohol and 3 gallons of vinegar so I can make my own cleaning solution.

Network42 posted:What's the deal with these tomatoes? Is this like that weird salt-ham from earlier? Yep. They're DOP (can only label them as such if they're grown in the San Marzano region) and are typically regarded as the best canned tomatoes available anywhere. Now, there are differing qualities of genuine San Marzano tomatoes, but I have faith that Costco would choose a solid supplier for their private label.

The Calvin Kleins are cheaper and fit me much better. I bought 15 pairs. It was very easy to do an online return for the EOs and not have to return underwear to an actual person (I tried on one pair and washed them). pbuc

I am mildly peeved at my Costco. I buy the 6-pouch boneless skinless dark chicken meat a lot, mostly for Instant Pot recipes - stews, Indian, etc. Last time I went they switched it out for boneless skinless thighs which work fine for what I need but cost ~30% more. As long as they never take away my cheap prime briskets we're still cool, though. pbuc

Prokhor Zakharov posted:holy fuckin shiiiiiiit Gonna have to fill out a comment card to request these. My local 'co never gets the staples like this, Victoria Organic White Linen marinara, or many/most of the KS wines. I don't do anything super goony like shove hot dogs into chicken bakes then roll em up in a slice of pizza but I do give a lil bit of that "does this guy have a mountain of piss bottles" vibe when writing PBUC at the bottom of the cards. I've been doing it in the hopes that someone stumbles upon it twice and finally Googles "costco" "pbuc" to find this thread, the number one search result. The sixth result is someone on the 311 forums also saying PBUC. my name is volatile I've been this way a long while I'd surely like to rest but the kirkland sigs get the best of me The past couple of trips have been real good. Yesterday we took some sparkling water bottles back for a cool $4.30 deposit return, spent it on soda and a mocha freeze, got brain freeze four steps later, and used the $20 auto renewal gift card. Was pretty busy for a Thursday night but we managed to be the ebb to the Memorial Day crowd's flow. Things started getting hectic towards the end because we got stuck behind a hambeast in a motorized scooter that felt the need to block any sample aisle along with her three-cart-deep posse. Didn't have to wait at all to get to a register but when we finished paying, I looked back towards the deli and just saw a sea of people heading towards the front. I'm never gonna be a 1%er but when people leave their homes to eventually eat the rich, I now know the same anxiety-inducing fear that will befall upon them. It's was very Thursday evening in the front and very, very Saturday afternoon in the back.
