The first real dungeon occurs about 10 hours in and it's cool. Now that everyone has 4 tech attacks and every enemy is weak to certain affinities and inflicts lots of status affects and I can boost people on command to steal turns, the combat is pretty fun even if some of the animations are really really long. The Cherenkov guy being revealed as a triple mind wiped mass murderer was cool

On the final dungeon but I've been forgetting to share all the lulzy clips. Also episode 2 is loving weird...they slightly redid every character model's face so they look like fan-made renders of the original cast + everybody except Jr and Allen have new voice actors...it's wildly offputting

I've only played one hour but this game seems way better than 1. The cutscenes are actually competently edited and the battle system is wayyyyy faster, attack animations are like 1/4th as long and it has Xenoblade driver combos. Think I'm gonna wind up liking this more than 1, unless it gets really bad really fast.

The redrawn faces weirded me out at first but now that everybody has changed into their Episode II outfits I think the new character designs are cooler across the board. It reminds me of how in FFXIV they give everyone a new outfit in each expansion
