Why the hell did it take so long for a yellow? And with the way they've done yellows this year, should be a good five green laps to end the day.

Cool for Ericsson and Power. Lame for my boy Josef but not as big a deal after the win yesterday. Also, after the crash today and commentary by PT, is Rosenqvist basically the next Ed Jones?

NBC still feels like it's an improvement over ABC circa 2005-pres. Kinda like how rewatching old Pepsi 400s/Daytona 500s, etc on NBC during the 2001-2006 era felt better than what proceeded it. (ESPN and Fox after that were truly dreadful). But NBC really just kept jamming commercials during the telecast in that era as well. I wish there was a way of doing a "scale" between broadcasts. It's clear that NBC is an improvement over modern day ESPN but it's also clear that they really pale in comparison to the Paul Page/Bob Varsha/Bob Jenkins-led telecasts sprawled over several networks.

IOwnCalculus posted:I couldn't see them but I could hear it come by for a second, much faster pass. That was truly a show. I'm bummed they didn't show how truly amazing that was to see in person. Even that video? Doesn't quite do it justice. I realize people find it comical but there are moments when one has tears of joy during the lead up to that race. Example? I somehow stumbled along the entrance to the pits mere moments before the race. I didn't have seats in that area but to be around moments before the start? It was amazing. They drove the old Cummins cars right before us and Bobby Unser drove by in a gulf cart. We also poke fun at NASCAR trying to do "ARR TROOPS" all the time, but there's something so genuine about Indianapolis in the way it's done. We walked by soldiers lined up in full uniform and it was rather incredible. Let me tell you something. In any other situation? You would be full right to make fun of me for being "emotional" but I literally called my dad on the phone after all that went down to tell him what I experienced. Had tears of joy in my eyes.

Still, he's pretty young, and if he can manage not to Sage Karam his career any further, and he flexes some talent, he probably still has a decent shot of spending a significant amount of time in Indycar. He's hardly the best of this year's rookie crop, but I don't hate the guy.
