Today Apollo and I went to Fort Ontario! I was walking him around it, realized the gate was open, and no one told me to pay so we just went in and climbed around on top of the fort. The view was amazing, as was the breeze!

She had a rough day. The fire alarm keot going off for about 5-10 seconds at a time then turning off. Just long enough for her to whimper as we were about to leave the hotel room. Then after we were on a long walk to destress her from that a decently loud thunder storm started up. She didn't act up but she wasn't happy about it. She got many snacks and pets.

Just go to a shelter and ask to meet their goodest dog that they haven’t managed to adopt out yet.

So hello again dog thread, I awoke this morning and have been googling dogs in the area for approximately 3 hours when I should probably be doing my PE application. I will have a 3 bedroom, second floor apartment in a newly constructed community which will soon have a dog park, has ample room for walking, and I've been provided by a friend with a local shelter of choice. I also have a Professional Engineering licensure exam in the fall, a Masters Thesis to write, and a brother that can assist in providing care for said bestest boy when I'm not around. ITT you provide me compatible breeds for the task at hand. My heart says German Shephard, but my brain knows better than that and says Jack Russel or doing the walk through the adoption agency looking for the spirit bond. This thread has provided my countless joy in the last couple of years, and perhaps I may be able to give back in some small way as I walk through the process of getting a doggo of my own for the first time since I moved out of my parents house in 2001.

I would recommend a mixed breed mutt, as they tend to be healthier than purebreds, if you get the chance. My Apollo is a GSD/husky mix and he's all personality. Also, before you get this dog I would highly recommend reading the dog/puppy thread at PI, and the dog training thread. Even if you get an adult dog the advice in there is worth the look. Good luck!

The dog will actually help you with the PE and masters. Go to the shelter, have a chat with them and ask to see some mixes. Yoko, for exemple, is a husky X who knows mix, but I’ve decided the breed is called the French Canadian singing dog. It’s hot out today.

I'd also look at Greyhound adoptions in your area. They're basically couch potatoes who can run 20MPH if they choose to. Which they usually don't. And they're gigantic derps who can get their feelings hurt. Greyhound thread: https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3549972
