Last anyone heard about it, the game's in development hell after running out of money and running into legal issues...that was a few months ago. Sooo things don't exactly look good on this front. It certainly looked like a beautiful game at least...to be honest I'm sceptical as to the actual truth of the premise and it being some sort of socialism scare story until the thing actually, y'know, comes out -- if it actually does. I can't count the amount of times some game has turned out completely different to the positive/negative hype on actual release. If it is like that it'll be a rather lousy game, if it isn't it may well be a pleasant surprise, so whatever. However what with all the hoodoo surrounding it already I can't really see it coming through these major issues anytime soon.

I would assume The Last Night, if it ever comes out as intended, would be pretty bad politically because something as specific as "artificial wombs are going to ruin humanity" is such a weirdly specific take that it has to be genuine.
