someone else can do the sales and convince people my skills are worth paying for (theyre not), Id just rather focus on creating a good product, and then I could possibly enjoy a moment or two in life (still not worth it)

i think we're actually doing it. my girlfriend is going back to work for the conservation corps. i have been jobless for a while now (consumer debt number go up) and have no intention of taking another full time professional computer touching job, i will follow her and either go back to work for the ccc or the park service or figure out how to use my computer skills for things that are somewhat socially valuable.

Imo there's a lot of social value in accepting a large salary funded by techbub and then not doing anything productive. at least that's how I justify it to myself

I've quit my job and am working down my notice before going travelling + working remotely with my gf. Not sure how long we'll do it for or if I'll be able to find enjoyable remote work but thanks to a few years of good figgies, low expenses and a standing offer of a job if we come back it isn't too stressful. Not sure I would be comfortable doing it if it involved taking on debt though.

Sounds like California housing hell is percolating east; they had to reduce the number of tours for crystal cave in kings canyon/sequoia due to being short staffed because of a lack of available housing for employees
