oh, that reminds me of one of the most genuinely worthless things on wikipedia: those little dots on maps e.g. go here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucharest and you see this little picture in the sidebar with the location highlighted. neato.  that image is really tiny though! let's go in for a closer look  oh, the dot disappears and it's just the unlabeled underlying map of romania why every single page that has one of those little red dots does this and it's so loving stupid and obvious

the actual reason is hilariously dumb -- the dot thing is a picture of a dot overlaid a picture of the underlying mass, and when you click on any picture on wikipeda it'll take you to the picture, singular. it's not some actual thing it's just some markup invention the editors made up

here's a fun one. my dad is a pastor in the denomination that put out this book, so i'm pretty famliar with this type of thing from going to church all the time when i was growing up. anyway the wiki page is all Categories: Lutheran hymnals | 2006 non-fiction books the first part of the book is basically stage directions for putting on a worship/mass. then, the bulk of it is music and poems, a bunch of which are explicitly fictional or metaphorical. i don't understand how somebody came to the conclusion that it needed to be labeled on the fiction/non-fiction binary
