I thought Monty Williams kinda got a bad deal but they seem to be fairly patient with Gentry. I know coaches can be fired regardless but they did just extend him so it seems like they're giving him a shot at the team with Zion (if they didn't have confidence it seems that would've been a good time to dump him?). I think he's a good dude to help with development and stuff, but you never know how a front office will react.

It looks like they are giving Gentry two years with Zion and will be making a decision on him after that (a team option for a third year, iirc). The org has liked him and Griffin has worked well with him before so it isn't someone he's unfamiliar with and doesn't want like Monty with Demps. I think he's just an average coach so I don't have any qualms with them handling his contract like they are.
