I love this song, Joey, by Concrete Blonde, and I was happy with the way this cover of it turned out. I don't think I've ever recorded on a nicer microphone. https://soundcloud.com/spencer-franklin-1/joey-cover-of-a-concrete If I've managed to get the link wrong, I apologize in advance. 🤔

This is the first cartoon by my friend and I which I don't think sucks. There's a few others, including a prequel of this, but they're only levels of alright to me now. Anyways enjoy my cartoon gun ducks! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iFA9fBhIeR8

I sculpted these mini planchettes and cast them in resin. They're addons for a Kickstarter I'm running, and I got a whole bunch of pledges when I added the first one (the orange on the left). I'm adding the purple one tonight and hoping people like it just as much. The orange one has simpler colours (orange + pink resin, gold + bronze + pink mica added before and after casting). The pinky one is pink resin, three blends of mica (blue+interference blue, purple+interference violet, pink+interference red) applied before casting, plus bronze mica applied after casting. I'm going for a dawn/dusk theme (and am trying to make a night variant too, but it's really hard to find a nice colour scheme for that, surprisingly). They're around 4x4cm, and the masters were cut out of layered cardboard don't do this oh my god cardboard is the worst medium ever I am just a masochist and then moulded in silicone, then a resin master was cast and refined (read: heavily sanded for days and days because cardboard is a trash medium). I hadn't done any resin work for years before this, and I''m really, really enjoying it, and really happy with how this project turned out!

Such amazing creative stuff in this thread. I haven't drawn or painted pictures since school, but had a strong inspiration during a recent period of relationship turbulence and pushed myself to produce something that expressed the uncertain yet ultimately optimistic emotions I was feeling:

I like to take pictures of toys, it's kind of my way to justify this dumb hobby. Give it some kind of creative purpose besides being put on a shelf. I took this one today with a set and I'm pretty proud of it. It was the last set up I did. Also using my roommates really dope camera too, which is getting my creative juices flowing.

Lighthouse renders I did for a client a couple months ago. For doing this between my two day jobs, was able to push the quality higher than expected. Still not entirely happy with the end result, but I am proud of it!

This is the trailer for my new feature film Mute Date: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZZwjsGPxns I shot the film this past summer. It's done and will be up on Amazon Prime in January 2019 and I'm very proud of it, and I'm also quite proud of the trailer. This is the first time I've ever cut a full-length trailer. I don't like trailers much, I always prefer short teasers. But, people like trailers, so I wanted to do a trailer. It's very hard to cut one, you don't want to give too much away and you also don't want to set people up for a movie your movie isn't. I feel like I accomplished exactly what I needed to with it.

Thanks! I rigged most of the cat and realized that I don't have time to animate much other than the head before the NYE deadline. So here is a pose testing controls I ultimately won't use but oh well... Lesson learned. Don't do unnecessary work when time is such a limiting factor. You can see I never quite got the spine right. sigma 6 fucked around with this message at 03:32 on Dec 26, 2018 |

None of my stuff is that new, but I did spent 6 years creating a single-player Warcraft III mod, which got a really good reception. More recently I created a mod for The Ur-Quan Masters with me voicing the Melnorme character. It was intended as a fix to re-insert important dialogue that was missing from the official voiced version of the game. But since I don't sound in any way like the original voice actor, I just came up with my own take on the character. Note the lo-fi compression on the voice is intentional so as to fit into the rest of the game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWt2wj7pFU8 I've also recorded a whole bunch of dialogue for Dawn of War mods, but I've never been sent the finished (post-processing) product so it's not really ready to share. And currently writing a massive gamebook but that's not finished.

omg, I literally can't stop laughing at this! I'm pleased with the event posters I've made (one upcoming, one last Hallowe'en). I'm just so sick of all the gig posters in our town cribbing from the same couple of generic design templates. Cribbing from 'sploitation and propaganda designs is far more interesting. e: oh, yeah, and I also did a vid for the Hallowe'en one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTKJfzGWBPQ ynohtna fucked around with this message at 09:51 on Jun 12, 2019 |

Some more voice work! I'm a big fan of Dawn of War, and have contributed a bit to some of the mods there (eg, the bugfix mod0. When I was advertising for some voice acting for my Ur-Quan Masters mods, I also saw an ad from a well-known Dawn of War modder looking for voice actors. On a whim I applied and was given various unit responses to record. One of those has now been used for the Warp Talon units in the Emperor's Children mod for Dawn of War. I'm slightly disappointed because you probably can't hear my voice a lot (it'll get overwritten by the unit leader the moment you build one, and you'd be an idiot not to build one pretty quickly) and I think it's a bit too modulated by the post production guys, but overall I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. Here they are on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/soul-reaver-3/sets I've still got more stuff pending on some other Dawn of War mods, including more prominent units, but I think this was the one I had the most fun with. I like this one best, because it's so cleanly done! Soul Reaver fucked around with this message at 23:52 on Jun 13, 2019 |

I'm particularly happy about this: These are procedural mountains I made a while ago as a part of a larger (though less detailed) project. They're made using only x,y lookups and noise. I know methods of how to make better mountains using only 2D lookups (raycasting, shell cascading, parallax, loops, perspective and camera projection) but this was designed to have a very limited amount of convolution matrices, derivatives and similar operations, and using only basic noise (so no crazy operations by customizing perlin gradients as derivatives). As such detailed operations such as simulating erosion and lighting are out of the window, and what was left was very basic noise operators. Plus it's tileable! How the whole thing starts: A bit further ahead:
