Belugas can also flex their melons to focus the sound waves while most cetaceans can't. They're talented!

I blame Law & Order and CSI for part of this cop love culture we suffer today. They gave unrealistic expectations of cops being professional and unbiased. Like CSI never shows the part where the prosecutor shows up at the office and goes "this guy did it. Find the evidence to prove it"

Find the evidence to prove it" That's nothing new, films and shows were doing it long before those shows. Except for the 70s, when crime was so rampant in major urban centers that people were getting ticked off at the uselessness of the cops that anti-cop films or films showing cops as scuzzy and corrupt saw a huge uptick, not to mention hordes of vigilante films.

I'm trying to get an entry level IT job and recently got someone to actually get back to me. First, I got an email with a few questions to answe, one of which was what salary range I wanted. I looked for what kind of starting salary that kind of position offers, and got this. My dad said he thought I understood myself, using the starting salary for just-out-of-high school lab techs at the hospital where he works. Later, I got a phone interview, and learned that they would have me start at just about minimum wage, which here is a whole $5/hr less than what I asked for Dr Christmas has a new favorite as of 14:58 on Jun 27, 2019 |

Scathach posted:Sweet! Good. Although I wonder how bad that's going to destroy conservation efforts? Apparently rescues can still be rehabilitated in captivity, which I hope so because otherwise injured and stranded animals will be just left to die and that sucks a lot. Revenue loss affects the ability to do any of this work too because conservation etc isn't cheap. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
