BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING ELSE REMEMBER TO TURN ON GPU RENDERING IN THE PREFERENCES AND ALSO IN THE RENDER TAB. IF YOU DO NOT KNOW HOW TO DO THIS - FIND OUT. OTHERWISE YOUR RENDERS MAY BE SLOW AS BALLS *you have to go into preferences accessed from the main menu and choose the gpu compute device and ALSO choose gpu compute in the render settings. failure to do this will result in SLOW AS BALLS renders blender 2.8 its beta at the moment. or soemthing idk. rc1 coming out soon. took me a little while to make the jump but its good. eevee is overrated garbage. its a shame the gizmo button doesn't have a hotkey by default. but ive used software my whole life and blender, while it has its faults and there is probably some aspect where I am used to it, is also one of the best clumps of mother fuckin software I have ever used its also free and open source its rodtronics to the core. ive also taken the dive and am using affinity photo rather than a pirated version of photoshop to keep rodtronics legit thru and thru. i even paid for this version of windows  but still. have you thought about using blender latelyone reason to use blender: good as gently caress drop shadows. im not going to claim this banner is good.. but those drop shadows make me want to dry off my pants asap so they're comfortable enough to put on and dance in

Learning a few keyboard shortcuts makes using Blender very pleasurable even for the pointless lame poo poo I manage to put together sometimes. Love those renders op.

keyboard shortcuts make computering in general more pleasurable unfortunately i don't have time to go back for an associate's degree in emacs so i'm stuck with baby-levels of complexity in vim this thread is making me want to dig into blender, thanks for the renderspiration rodtronics

i want rodtronics to get in the video card manufacturing business just for the box art. even better if it’s only geforce gt 710’s priced like a 1160, because the box is so loving shiny, it must be better. even better if you customize the pcb to fit 9GB of the cheapest gddr3, so it’s got a bigger number on the box than those rtx 2070’s. so at $200 of course it’s a loving steal, just look at that holographic liquid metal dragon on the box!

I’m going to put together a blender file with some things to gently caress around with, to instantly get some things that look kinda neat anyway, a yospos file. for me at least getting some instant gratification spurs me to do more
