Captain Invictus posted:

oh of course, as the wife herself points out multiple times, but yeah, it's not about that, it's used as more of a vector to explore people crippled by grief rebuilding, with some silly shenanigans too. And yeah, I can absolutely see with this second chapter being a method of moving on than anything else. Honestly it felt complete as a oneshot, but it also could be a promising story about acceptance and making a new path especially considering the introduction of his coworker in the second chapter.

definitely walking a tightrope with that premise, but it has been going out of its way to avoid anything further than dealing with trauma so far. That said, the author doesn't even have a baka-updates page so I don't know their history. edit: oh wait they do, but there's nothing there except for that series.

But how can you move on when your wife isn't actually dead? I feel like the one-shot would've made a lot more sense if it ended with her losing all her memories of her previous life.

I think it was linked in this thread before, The Bones of an Invisible Person has had its final chapter translated. Unlike most of what gets posted here this is certainly not a comedy, but the 22 chapters are definitely worth the read.

so, Shark Girl, that adorable little 4koma about a girl with shark puppets on her hands, got serialized into a proper non-4koma manga.

it's...not great.

like, it's not BAD, but it just totally whiffs the charm that the pre-serialization had imo.

Bakarina isn't really the same thing, but it kinda is? 'Villainess slow prison life' reminded me of it anyway.

Girl gets reincarnated as the villain of an otome game and realizes that all the endings she played end up with this character getting killed or exiled, so starts furiously trying to avoid the destruction flags from the game, at the same time basically inverting the plot and gathering a reverse-harem in the process. She's denser than a neutron star and never really twigs to exactly how far off the rails things are going (When she meets the otome protagonist she's always curiously wondering what route she's on and can't figure out that all the routes in game are into HER instead)

From the description I get the idea that she'll be in jail watching everything crumble without her as they've decided she's committed some nebulous never defined crime.

But on the other hand I'm absolutely big on overpowered character isekais going around fixing things on a grand scale, so I'd be down if any of those, but women instead, happen.

I will forever love the chapter of Bakarina where she gets accused of the plan that would have landed her in trouble in the "normal" (i.e. non-isekai) timeline, and everyone's response is "No way, she's an idiot, she could never think of a plan so complex and involved." :allears:
