I just remember Chopped being insanely repetitive & forced but that may be just getting burned out on the format. Plus I remember it starting to lean way harder into the "Everyone must have a sob story to win" manufactured drama but then again, I haven't watched it in a long time and I soured whole-hog on Food Network programming as a whole (gonna go ham for some new Good Eats tho)

Yeah it's like they ask everybody to talk about the saddest thing in their life and then suggest their winnings will go towards that. It makes it that much more funny when other contestants are like "I'm gonna take my $10k and open a restaurant of my own!" It's like, cool man you do you, not everybody has a sick grandma with bills to pay buuuuuuut how exactly are you planning to open your own place for $10k? To me that means you have either already got like $100k into the place and just want to pay for the tables & chairs or you really have no idea how much it costs to start a business.

"I grew worshiping my grandfather, he was a WW2 fighter pilot, i would always listen to the stories of him and his friends. It gave me a great respect for the armed services and I'd like to do more about it.... so i'm taking my 10k and getting my pilots licence.

Started Psych and Justified again. I really liked these shows. Also forgot how funny Justified got from season 2 on. Great mix of humor and drama.

Up to episode 8 in Another Life. The show has steadily getting better as it kills off characters. I think that's the series twist; there were never any aliens instead it was all a hoax to send all the biggest assholes and drama cows in NASA on a suicide mission.

The traitor guy's dialogue at the end of the first episode is all over the place. "You're putting the mission over our lives!" I thought the your entire point was that she didn't do that. That makes zero sense in context.

Things that make no sense in Another Life (I’m also up to episode 3): - An alien spaceship lands on earth and they only have like two scientists studying it. - That there exists advance AI capable of learning how specific people act and think, enough that they can pretend to be them for others to talk to, but not using such an AI to decode coded alien messages. - That “the most important mission ever” is crewed by a bunch of kids instead of a group of disciplined professionals. - That space rifles have not one, not two, but three aiming lasers, all three of which point in different directions. Binging a history channel show called Forged In Fire. They bring in 4 people who are blademakers and is seperated in 4 parts 1. The 4 have to make a knife/blade, often they have challenges of where they get their steel (from parts in junkyard, from chainsaws etc) one episode was that they were not given hammers and had to make their own along wirh a blade. The judges choose a blade that does not make rhe mark 2. They have to make a handle and are subjected to stress tests and sharpness tests. They send a 2nd person home. 3. The final 2 are sent home to their forges to recreate a historical blade in 5 days. 4. The two blades are subjected to tests and ultimately a winner is chosen It is such an interesting show and was hooked after 1 episode.

Prime is basically is old TV shows and trashy movies, it's great. I've been on an 80s slasher kick. We also watched some Carol Burnett Show, she interacts with the audience and is very charming and sincere.

Just finished Barry and absolutely loved it. Started Killing Eve today and already blasted through 6 episodes. Hot drat it’s such a great show!!!! Sad it took me so long to start it.
