I had a hamburger from a dairy cow that was injured and had to be put down on the farm my FiL worked. It was the best hamburger I’ve ever eaten. If you told me I could get another burger like that I’d go out and kneecap that cow myself.

Their margins are incredibly narrow, and new cars are stupid expensive, even Nissans. Their CEO also got caught with his whole arm in the cookie jar recently, so they're dealing with that. I lost count of how many dismal crossovers they offer now...

Comstar posted:What happened? Well the earnings report showed dismal numbers and the stock tanked like 11% after hours. Then the earnings call began and: Musk announced that the CTO since 2004 and basically only talented and experienced guy at the executive level still at tesla would "transition" to an advisory role. He has also been selling of his stocks the past year, a very reassuring sign that everything is fine at the company. On being asked about either demand or profitability on the models S+X (can't remember which) Musk chose to joke that they're good because otherwise the line-up wouldn't spell out SEXY. I'm fairly sure he didn't really answer the question. When asked about how Tesla were to improve service Musk told the call how now commonly needed parts would be stored at the service centers for immediate use rather than in central warehouses to be ordered when needed. If your new to Tesla, loving up by refusing to use practices and solutions to problems solved by the auto industry for at least decades is very much their MO. That's just from the top of my head, there was lots more and I can't wait for this train wreck of a company to die and let me stop obsessing about it.

A cow in general denotes a female that has had a calf.

In the field of work I do, Titanium cannot be oxidized in the heat affected zone like that. Come to think of it, that material may also be stainless steel, which got up to 1000°F. I do electron beam welding so everything I do is done under a vacuum to protect the beam as well as eliminate oxidation.

Weatherman posted:I bet people get some wicked fuckin' scars and tumours and impromptu brain surgery when their coworkers decide to play pranks with that thing. It's a $2.6 Million machine. Nobody that isn't supposed to be near it is allowed to even be over there, also they are like 1.25 inch thick solid steel walls on the vacuum chamber and the windows are super thick with leaded glass inserts for X-ray abatement. Only one weld we do back there is producing much X rays and it's 2.2 inches deep on 925 or 945X inconel. I know you're joking but the safety around that machine is serious business, if for the vacuum chamber system alone. The machine is so powerful it can put a hole in itself in under 30 seconds. Here's a bigger version of what we have https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9p_1ieqcXY Or one just like ours with a wire feeder setup for additive manufacturing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxwrJNWIT3E E: that should be enough of this welding derail E2: I had a couple months of OJT for it, have been doing it 5 years since then. A CS degree didn't hurt, since these still use modified G code like any other CNC machine, and compared to FORTRAN70 cluster modules or C mallocs and reallocs, G code is pretty simple. I guess most Americans are used to the Taco Bell style hard shell taco. The JITB tacos are the closest thing I can find to my Mexican Abuela's tacos, I'm sure the BK ones would be ok if they are similar to that. I'm not sure where they were having the people try the tacos at. I'm guessing it must have been somewhere where there's not really any JITB restaurants around. Isn't JITB regional to the West coast and western US?
