It's funny...

You were so scary at night.
Carano was great in Haywire because it was basically a vehicle for her specifically. She was also fine as a henchman in Fast & Furious 6 and Deadpool. So yeah, she definitely has a leg up on Rousey.

But more to the point, we've seen people like Dwayne Johnson, John Cena etc establish themselves as action movie stars but is there any other MMA/WWE personality that's successfully made the jump to drama like Bautista has?

If you're asking who can successfully act in a drama, I guess you're probably right. My point was that Rousey is terrible as an action star as well. Even in her voice over work in Mortal Kombat, I knew instantly it was her, because she's just awful. The whole jump to movies just isn't going to happen for her, because she can't act in any capacity. I feel like I can't use the word "stilted" for any other actor ever, because it will never apply to anyone more than Rousey.

I'm probably overselling the point by now, so I'll stop. I just really wish she'd stop being in movies.

Yeah avoiding the trailer is a good idea. I saw the movie at a fest last week and while you won't get the context from watching the trailer, it does show off everything.

her voice acting work in MK11 is notably bad. like, some of the worst ever voice acting in a professionally made, big budget video game

Rousey's VA as Sonya is about on par with the VA done by NBA players in 2K games.

Gotta be honest, I love Shia. I don't know when it happened...maybe around the time that goon was doing the satire reads of the Transformers movies. Then he was in Nymphomaniac, and American Honey, and did a music video for Sia and...I dunno...it just crept up on me. He's just great, and I'm glad he had a psychic break and hardcore went down the performance art rabbit hole to de-condition himself from big studio brainwashing because he's just incredibly talented.

It was one of those things where he sits there and lets the audience do whatever to him and he claims some lady had her way with him.

https://news.artnet.com/market/shia-labeouf-sexually-assaulted-during-performance-at-cohen-gallery-in-los-angeles-184488

quote:

“One woman who came with her boyfriend, who was outside the door when this happened, whipped my legs for ten minutes and then stripped my clothing and proceeded to rape me,” LaBeouf wrote. “It was no good, not just for me but her man as well. On top of that my girl was in line to see me, because it was Valentine’s Day and I was living in the gallery for the duration of the event,” he continued.

This is perfect. I mean I like Franco and admire the passion and effort, but he just doesn't have the chops that Shia does. He's like the athlete that becomes good by sheer brute force training but just can't obtain the status of the guy with a natural gift and the same level of dedication.
