Dolph wrapping his career in WWE up becoming the One-Man Kabuki Warrior Spirit Squad where he just cheers on Asuka and Kairi and pumps up Paige’s managerial skills would be a nice exit. Doesn’t end on a heel turn or anything, just one day he goes “y’all got enough spirit for a lifetime, my work is done” and he shakes their hands, says “goodbye, I’m Dolph Ziggler” and we never hear from him again.

I unfortunately took up smoking when I quit drinking last year and it is the opposite of cool, and representations of smoking on AEW and other media are portrayed as campy because no one really thinks of smoking as cool anymore. I really doubt anyone’s gonna decide to start because some rando dealing poker has a cigarette in a 20 second promo

I haven't smoked in almost a decade now. I didn't start or stop because of any media portrayals, etc. I was well aware of the risks and dangers. I think everyone alive today is aware. I think the "let's pretend no one smokes" thing in media for the last 15 years is silly and unrealistic. I thought it was a really nice to see all the smoking in Stranger Things since in the mid 80s there was SO MUCH smoking it would be unrealistic to not show it.

I worked in a casino for a year in college, the amount of smoking in one of them is mind blowing. They have pretty insane HVAC systems to try to keep the air breathable and it still doesn't work great. I would come out of work smelling like I was living in an ashtray often. The casino I was at would launder your uniforms for you to get the stink out since they would warn you that you likely couldn't in a home unit.

Smoking isn't cool, but if people want to do it that is their business. Let's not pretend it doesn't exist.

Cody has a cigar company, he's not on any crusades to stop people smoking.

This has a name in media studies and it's "the Third Person Effect."

Anybody who says they're not affected by advertising or media is arguing that culture doesn't affect culture, which is pretty ludicrous.

so i've been facebook friends with this wrestler named Alex Nabiev for a little while now, and it is the gift that keeps on giving.

just to give you an idea, this is his picture (linked because bloody). in each and every one of his profile pictures that I can find, this man is either covered in blood or doing something batshit insane that i think even old-school CZW would have probably balked at. this is his facebook info panel, to give people who don't want to directly look at gore an idea:

in spite of this, Alex Nabiev is also basically a loving human golden retriever. he is genuinely one of the nicest people I have on facebook, albeit one of the weirdest.

and he wants to come to America, probably because people keep telling him to come to America! (including me!)

i think dolph should climb onto the big screen and holler, "i'm brothers with hot young briley" and jump off it, back into the area behind the set so that it doesn't show if anything really gross happened

DIRECTIVE 236: Promote pro-social values
Most WWE characters do the best when they "turn into the skid" and acknowledge their issues. The "I'm the SHOW STEALER" thing from Dolph has been done 10 times before. I want to see a "HEEL ZIGGLER!" that acknowledges how much he sucks. That gloats in the fact that he's still here taking up TV time, still being mediocre, refusing to be flushed like a little nugget. That subjects us to bad stand-up until someone kills him

Here's a thread of them, like 20 of the people Chuck works with have one. Down the thread it's mentioned it started to be a thing when Bruiser Brody found a place that had cheap steak in Japan in the 70s, and started bringing wrestlers there all the time.
