That's a lot of stuff! I don't see it mentioned anywhere in the patch notes, but apparently there's now also New Game+ as well as dev commentary. With these two features and (Ukrainian VO) I might actually have another go!

Anti-Hero posted:I presume NG+ carries over progress made towards kill-count achievements? I wonder how that works, actually. Did kill-count achievements not accumulate over multiple games previously? Because the "headhunter" achievement, for example, feels like it requires you to kill more humans than you even encounter in an ordinary game (300 NPCs) unless you're killing everybody with a pulse and reloading saves (kills definitely accumulate over reloaded saves, so you could grind a little for it, or get to it "naturally" if you die and reload saves a fair amount). It seems like starting a new game may have continued to contribute to those sorts of achievements. EDIT: Not sure though. I played SUPER slow and over 42 hours on a single game, I managed to get to 287/300 NPC kills on a playthrough that only focused on killing "bad" guys. Ranger Hardcore mode, so no quicksaves--when I died I often times started much further back than somebody who was saving frequently, so maybe I killed more people repeating segments over and over Cream-of-Plenty fucked around with this message at 01:47 on Mar 27, 2019 |

The kill count is always being tracked, even if you reload a save. I actually got the achievement for killing enemies with the van by plowing through a group of mutants, reloading my last save, and doing it again a few times.

I’ll wait a bit longer but these fixes are going to be great for a replay on Ranger.

I started a NG+ but didn't get to keep any weapon or gear upgrades. I'm wondering if i did something wrong but now i suppose my old save is gone anyway? Is there anything i can do to get it back or to fix this? I had previously completed the game on the current save. *edit* Or do you not get access to the weapons untill after you get the workbench in the train set up? Anyone played through with the developer commentary turned on? Wondering if it's worth another play-through. (Specifically, I'm hoping the commentary talks about things like storytelling and immersion through detail.) The commentary for Human Revolution (which covered story and world-building in detail but was also a very honest post-mortem that looked at failures and lost opportunities) is sort of my gold standard.

This game came free from my GPU purchase and I must say, I'm loving it so far. I just reached the desert level and I'm already thinking of picking up the previous two games. Is it better to play the originals or to play the Redux version?

Last Light's basically the same except for some very minor changes here and there. 2033 is better played in the Redux version, way less of a headache.

Is it better to play the originals or to play the Redux version? 2033 Redux for sure. The overhaul brings the game in line graphically and mechanically with Last Light and Exodus. Edit: I played 2033 before the redux version and while 2033 has some rough charm to it - and I think the narration and music is better - it can be very aggravating and not in a good way (a sequence toward the end is especially hair-tearing). I loved the game despite its problems and not because of them. Graphically, LL Redux isnt that different from the base game, but it does include all the DLC and a few small mechanic changes. It's worth getting, but not if its massively priced over the original game, unless you really want all the DLC. Asbury fucked around with this message at 18:29 on Apr 17, 2019 |

Also there's a really neat surprise later in the game for people who played the original 2033, Last Light and then 2033 Redux. I enjoyed how unexpected it was.

I don’t think you can buy the original 2033 any more anyway, except second-hand of course.

Chances this isn't going to be my personal GOTY are basically non existent at this point. Thought Sekiro would be a shoe in but I'm not sure I even want to finish it and I'm already thinking about playing Exodus again. It's a flawed game in some ways but I think it's more interesting than 98% of games right now. It's just a great balance of AAA gaming and weird off the wall game design, and the entire series has so much more personality than most of games. I also rebought redux so I could play the whole thing again. Much love to the entire Metro series. veni veni veni fucked around with this message at 06:42 on Apr 26, 2019 |

I got it on Game Pass also, but I gave up and uninstalled after the second time my save game got corrupted. The first time cost me about an hour of gameplay, the second time about 3 hours. It stinks, since I'm a huge fan of the first 2 games. I really don't understand only allowing 2 save game slots on the PC version. If they let me make frequent backup saves, I'd still be playing.

Just got around to playing and finishing this. The game was really good! I thought the storytelling was excellent, though the ending could have really benefited from one additional play section. Amazing looking game too with everything up and RTX. Is there supposed to be DLC coming out for it soon? All I can see about it is "Summer".

Thanks for the heads up. Installing it now. 7.99 for two colonels and the expansion pass is $25? Huh. I wonder if the next one is planned to be pretty big if it's cost covers almost 4/5ths of the pass.

DLC is good. Short, sweet and pretty bare bones at about 3 hours, but feels more than fair at 8 bux. The tunnel section at the beginning is delightfully gross and the story is pretty good. Forgot how fuckin creepy those apes are lol.

I am enjoying it so far, so I looked up the next DLC. Apparently it’s gonna be a whole new open world segment in Vladivostok where you try and get to America as Sam; I’m super interested in that. Won’t be out til early next year though, sadly.
