What’s TNM? TNM is a DOS-based text simulator for wrestling matches. It was developed by Oliver Copp (ask Oliver, awkward Dave laughter here). Its first edition came out in 1992. It was pretty popular in its time period, especially with people running e-feds back in the 90s and early 00s. It took until 2018 for the program to be optimized for DOSBox. Cedric’s going to have to go back to the performance center to work on that psychology thing. Is this game still popular? Not really. I just had a random bit of nostalgia and found out that it’s now packaged with DOSBox, which makes it a lot easier to run. However, there’s a handful of diehards that are still working with it, putting new wrestling packs together, and looking at things like finding out that rest holds should not be in the game. Is this game good? Define good. It is very much a relic of its era. It’s wacky and clunky. It runs on the assumption that you are familiar with the manual, which is almost 25000 words. You have to import wrestler files, individually, through a menu that takes four screens to get to. You have to be mindful of a 999 move limit, which I had to spend 3 hours getting my database back under yesterday so I could set this thread up. You have to use a plugin to do any kind of actual business management, like what you would have to take care of in EWR/TEW. But then again, you have things like Clark Alexander getting pissed at Mike Chioda and throwing him over the top rope while wrestling Humberto Carillo or Okada pinning Omega in eight minutes after a top rope elbow drop. People randomly interfere to start new feuds or pull out weapons or put someone through a table. Refs are attacked. Wrestlers’ have their overness ranked and compared. Matches are rated on the five star scale. It’s a pretty diverse program, considering when it was made. What is this thread going to be? I’m going to run AEW, starting with Double or Nothing. I’m going to be limited by which wrestlers have been created by other users, so certain matches like the battle royale and the joshi trios match will either not happen or lack participants. I’ll run the company on beyond that, adding in mystery opponents as time goes by. The mystery opponents will consist of everyone that I’ve imported into the game. This list is current AEW, NXT, and WWE wrestlers, plus historical ECW workers, a few current impact roster members, and a few odds and ends. I'll keep adding people as I can and will create new ones as necessary, though that'll be a little time consuming. The first show will be: Casino Battle Royale Kip Sapian vs. Sammy Guevara SoCal Uncensored vs. Strong Hearts Britt Baker vs. Nyla Rose vs. Kylie Rae (this match will not be awesome, unless I find a Kong import) Angelico & Jack Evans vs. Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta Cody vs. Dustin Rhodes Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson vs. Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho

I found an Awesome Kong import from her TNA days, but that was part of a roster pack that bloated the moves database back up over 999 moves. I'll try to delete 47 moves tonight and get the first card running by Friday.

The card for Fyter Fest is (without Laredo Kid, Riho or Yuka Sakazaki in the database): Best Friends vs. Private Party vs. SCU (Kaz & Scorpio Sky) Allie vs. Leva Bates Christopher Daniels vs. CIMA Adam Page vs. Brian Pillman Jr. Shawn Spears vs. Jungle Boy vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. MJF Nyla Rose vs. Kylie Rae Cody vs. Darby Allin Pentagon Jr., Rey Fenix and a mystery partner vs. Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson Joey Janela vs. Jon Moxley in the closest thing I can get to a non-sanctioned match in this thing It should be noted that the mystery partner is going to literally be a random person from the database.

It's weird, because people are rated out of 100 on workrate and I think the lowest rating for any of the Bucks or Lucha Bros. is 90. I bumped the Bucks up some, though.

Here's my card for All Out: Britt Baker & mystery partner vs. Awesome Kong & Leva Bates Bates and Kong have both won their matches in AEW so far, while Baker was on the losing end in her sole appearance. The mystery opponent will be a new addition to expand the roster on the women's side until I get around to adding more female competitors into the game. Match for a first round bye in the AEW World Tag Team Championship Tournament Best Friends vs. The Dark Order Pretend wrestlers versus creepy perverts, nature's first feud. Private Party & SCU vs. The Revival, Angelico, Jack Evans, & MJF The Revival made huge news when Dash Wilder debuted as the mystery partner of The Lucha Bros. in the main event of Fyter Fest. The Revival hope to build some momentum by teaming with MJF and the team of Angelico and Jack Evans. Scorpio Sky & Kazarian hope they can join Christopher Daniels in the win column, while Private Party appears in their second match. Sammy Guevara vs. Jon Moxley Moxley has to be disappointed after his surprising loss to Joey Janela in the main event of Fyter Fest. He's hoping to bounceback with a win against Sammy Guevara, who's 1-0 in the company after his win against Kip Sapian. Darby Allin vs. Jimmy Havoc vs. Chris Jericho Jericho finds himself facing two hungry new stars in his second match in AEW, after his loss to Kenny Omega at Double or Nothing. Allin held a strong performance against Cody before losing at the 15th minute, while Jimmy Havoc was part of the Fyter Fest four way that Shawn Spears won at Fyter Fest. Adam Page vs. Joey Janela Both Page and Janela are going for their second consecutive wins. Page defeated Brian Pillman Jr. at Fyter Fest, after Pillman eliminated him from the Casino Battle Royale. Janela pulled off a huge win against Jon Moxley last time out. PAC vs. Cody PAC is making his AEW debut against Cody, who's now 2-0 after defeating his brother Dustin and his not brother Darby Allin. The winner of this match will be a top contender for the AEW World Championship. Escalera De La Muerte Lucha Brothers vs. Young Bucks Flips, motherfuckers. Match for the first AEW World Champion Shawn Spears vs. Kenny Omega Omega earned this spot by defeating Chris Jericho at Double or Nothing, while Spears is here after winning the Casino Battle Royale at the same show.
