It's awesome, I bought an old military surplus duffel bag to store it in that has backpack straps so I can more easily hike it up to inaccessible lakes

Its more annoying to deflate than inflate and you have to make sure it's dry before you pack it away but it does a perfectly fine job of getting me on the water. Definitely worth the meager price to try it yourself.

There’s this weird paranormal theory that what we call forests actually aren’t, that all the forests on earth died ages ago and mountains are their petrified stumps

After a few days deep in enormous mountain ranges I gotta admit, trees can look like just so many weeds

I guess this is my last alpine lake experience with solitude since it was a somewhat steep trek up; granted starting from 7000+ ft probably had an impact on how that felt

I wonder if it would be a lot easier now considering how much very I log on the regular now

That sounds awesome. Is it a technical climb or just a big rear end hike? Are you gonna do it all in one go?

HAIL eSATA-n
Apr 7, 2007

not technical but you need microspikes/crampons and an ice axe. apparently the best way down is.. sliding.

planning on sleeping around 9k ft then summiting day 2

Broken Machine

the term for sliding down a mountain on your butt with an ice axe is glissading
i hope you know how to self-arrest with your ice axe
