The judging on this show is ridiculous. Cam had the weakest tattoos 2 weeks in a row, didn't understand the task of using 2 different styles, and yet still remains although the only competition Cam could win would be for the title of Brag Master. Cam's major specialty or style is making a mess on men's upper arms. And the 'battle of the sexes' premise at this point makes no sense. There's only 7 people left, no preliminary challenge, and no coaches - why were they still split into "teams" that had no bearing on anything. Oh well at least Chris has started dressing like an adult so we must be near the end of the season.

It was to ensure a woman gets to the finale, just like switching the genders of the guest coaches was to give the women a chance to win something. It’s very ham fisted but at least it’s there.

I don't feel like a woman is guaranteed to get into the finale with the way this season is going. At this point the only guarantee is Cam because apparently they will ignore anything to keep him on this show. My actual prediction: Cam, Jason, Laura with probably Jason for the win. I know it is all nonsense and most of you skip the drama parts but I don't and Laura storming out after no one chose her tattoo really bothered me. It was a good tattoo but they were all pretty good except for Cam's. Maybe stay and support your team instead of acting like some crazy injustice has been done to you?

It's funny, because every single artist is sensitive and defensive and argues every mistake to death, but the women always seem to be the ones that are quick to point out how sensitive the men are (and then the tears flow during critique and one of them walks out because she didn't get picked.) The judging criteria is always wildly varied, and they manipulate it each episode to get rid of one person over the other. And yet, it can still be juuuuuuust barely justified. After all, Holli's house was crooked as hell, but if you're comparing the final two, Cam didn't follow the challenge. If you're judging overall, Cam edges out Holli, but Holli did better work on this day. I know they like to fall back on the whole "what really matters in the end is the ink on the skin" deal, and with that, you can kinda justify Cam's two similar tats versus Holli's roughly applied face. It always feels like they give more slack to an artist who did well early on and is struggling vs. someone who hasn't really stood out and is very up and down.

I would guess they’re setting Cam up to get to the finale or real close to lose so they can bring him back later for grudge matches since Cleen and Christian has been played out to death. Probably bring back Josh too since they’re both cocky shits that bring the drama.

For those who fast forward through all the 'talkie' stuff and missed it: the wheelchair cover segment was quite emotional - in a good way. Dani knew her eagle was a bad drawing and not the Trash Polka look the customer asked for ("You can have some red added later" ?!), but she went ahead with it anyway - and survived. IDGI.

Dani's was absolutely worse. I can't believe Oliver let that Eagle slide. Not since Tatu Baby do I recall a more egregious producer elimination. Not that Cam's an awesome guy, but on the list of assholes this show has produced, he's pretty low on the list. Some muddy coloring and a couple slightly off swords vs. an owl with an eagle's head. Shenanigans I say. Worst part being, Dani is very unlikely to make the finale anyhow. I could understand if it was Laura who did that, but man. Ironically, if she had done the trash polka, she could have played with the negative space and the patterns to make up for the eagle not being full spread.

Yeah it was really obvious who was going home this week. Also it really illustrated how useless the jury of peers is. We know there have to be 3 in the bottom and only 2 tattoos were even considered good by the judges. This is simple math. Looks like next week is another blind judging which I like. They should do that a lot more often.

Yeah, I'm bummed about Jake. He went from'Uh, what's this guy's name again?' to the one I was rooting for. Once they voted for Laura to get yo the finale, I was just like 'Welp. There we go.' I have a question, has anyone made it as far as Jake did without ever getting tattoo of the day? I'm guessing probably, but once a season is over, I forget everything about it.

Jake and Dani both kinda came out of nowhere on this show. I really loved Dani's final tattoo and honestly never liked the broccoli wizard so I'm glad they picked her first. Interesting that they are only doing one tattoo for the finale this time, haven't they been doing two for a while now? I also forget everything about this show after it's over. Agree that Laura will probably win but I am rooting for Dani after these last few eps.

She's got some bright spots but if you look at her whole body of work, Dani really doesn't deserve to be in the finale. Even ignoring that she should have gotten the boot over Cam, the past few episodes all her talking heads are like "Oh I did such a bad job," or "I've never done this," or "Uh, I don't even know what that is." She's been very lucky. Her pepper was really nicely applied, but it was just a pepper with a face. Good, not great. Not that Jake's witch was amazing either. Guessing it comes down to Jason and Laura, and Laura ends up taking it with technical application over Jason's creativity. Assuming there's no America voting shenanigans, in which case both girls are pretty much guaranteed to be the final two.

Easily the worst tats I've ever seen in a finale. Dani's, meh, no idea what it was supposed to be and I would be legit angry to have that poo poo on me. Laura's was .. nice but had no depth, no contrast, so was unreadable and not a winner on any other season. Creepy Jason's was generic but better art. But it was always going to be Laura and we knew that and they knew that. I was briefly intrigued by Grudge Match or whatever but the preview reminded how poorly this show does fake drama and I deleted the timer. Ashley's tattoo was fantastic, she legit won the coach's thing.

Yeah I thought it was weird for him to show up at the battle of the sexes with something that objectifies women but whatever. Not outright insulting but certainly tasteless. It was well done but I agree with the judges that it wasn't realism. Yay for female inkmaster and for Ryan's win! But I would have picked Dani's out of the two. Laura's was just too dark all over and kinda unreadable. Dani followed like every single rule they set down and it was her first time ever doing something like that which I think is pretty amazing. Compare that with Laura who was like "oh they gave me Japanese I'm gonna ace this" and just didn't. Dani posted her process on instagram and all the research and effort she put into the drawing is crazy. I know I really just sound like a Dani fangirl which I guess I am now but I am still happy that we get another female inkmaster either way. And yeah grudge match looks bad. Also turf wars? They are really running out of theme ideas. They should just go back to no theme.

Maybe the first skin tear/biomech tattoo I didn't completely hate, but they were both fine and let's be honest, the script had Laura winning. They should have done a "oh my God for the first time in history we have no choice but to crown two ink masters" gimmick or something though. It's not like they're gimmick averse.
