ok so technically this isn't about Online (yet) But I finally bought GTA V for the PC all the way back in the Winter/New Years Steam Sale. I haven't tried to play it at all until this morning, having been enjoying some GTA RP videos and that acting as the impetus to finally install it (a couple of weeks ago) and actually hit play (this morning). I guess I repressed my Social Club trauma somehow, because I had to install LA Noire on my new Windows 10 PC around that same time, which meant not only wrestling my way past the social club, but finding a bunch of outdated .dlls and whatnot to make it work on windows 10, too. But the trauma has returned, and, well, gently caress ROCKSTAR AND gently caress THE SOCIAL CLUB. Can anyone tell me how to get around it? I have a legit copy of the game. I don't even plan to play online for a while yet to come, and if I do, it'll be some RP server, not the official Online version of the game. Why can I not just play this game I purchased without all of this bullshit? Well, we know why, because I'm on the PC, but...it was rhetorical. Can any of you help me?

I just don't like it because it's intrusive, it serves literally no beneficial purpose, and half of the time, when I tried to play along back in the LA Noire days of 2016, it'd gently caress up when I actually tried logging in (to the point where I just played offline and ignored a source of clues to get around it). I've already tried playing offline to do so once again with GTAV, only to have it pop back up and mock me for trying to play the game I purchased. That's my sole motivation.

I... still don't understand what you're asking. Socia Club for GTA V for me was "log in once, ignore it after that". Once in a while it makes me log in again, usually after the major game updates, but that's it.

Whether you bought a steam version or jsut the rockstar social club version, if you want to play online then you *need* a social account login, there's just no way around that. Once its created and linked, you can never see it again if you don't want. Really during gameplay the only time you interact with the social club is if you hit [HOME] to bring up the screens for finding crews/friends/shark cards, so just don't hit home, or try to remap that key in-game to ctrl-alt-F6 or something. I dont even see steam when I play and its a steam version. THeres a desktop icon for GTAV, i click it, and some things pop up briefly(the steam connecting and then a social club one, but they go away, in a few seconds I hear the window break and siren, and then I go have a smoke and grab a drink and go to the bathroom and when I come back 12 minutes later, Im ready to play. After that there is no interaction with either steam or social club unless I press one ofthe keys to bring upsteam overlay or social club (ctrl-F12 or home)

Picked up the game not too long ago and I just had something happen that I haven't seen yet - when I went to go to my counterfeit cash factory it wasn't showing up on the map and I didn't have an entrance for it. Quitting the MC and starting it up again didn't do anything. Googling the problem wasn't much help either. Am I missing something here?

Every time I started the game back up it crashed while loading into an online session, and when I finally got in by loading into a crew-only session, I noticed this in the loading screen:  And then I loaded in and found... this:  Something's fucky.

A bunch of random questions: Is there any difference between the buzzard you summon from Pegasus vs the one you summon in the CEO menu? If I modify my buzzard in the aircraft workshop, is it no longer available via Pegasus? Does it become a personal vehicle that dings players with an insurance fee when they blow it up? If someone grabs a crate and gets into an Akula, does it hide the crate icon from other players' minimaps when it's in stealth mode? If I trade in my nightclub for a more conveniently-located one, from what I've read, I'd lose the security/bartenders/equipment upgrades and popularity but I'd keep my technicians, garage, and storage levels? Or would I lose those as well? Would I have to steal the party bus from Blaine County again? And finally, does this week's 40% off affect nightclub trade-in value, or is that value always a flat percentage regardless of weekly markdowns?

The CEO blizzard is always stock so your sick paint job will be gone when you call it that way. But you can do it the hard way and still get your paintjob, but then you should be calling an Akula instead. You will keep your garages and storage when you swap nightclubs. Pretty sure you don't have to do the setup again because your DJ carries over as well.

Calling buzzard... Via Pegasus will span the stock black one, somewhere at the nearest designated spot. Anyone can get in Via CEO menu will be stock black but usually right next to you. Neither of them does well off-road. Don't put the roof-mounted weapons on it or else you'll get stuck under one or two low bridges the GPS will route you under. Front dual MGs / Prox mines are more than enough for sell mission NPCs. If anyone really wants to stop you, they'll do so in either vehicle.

There were a few times I'd have to do 2 or 3 trips but it's so much quicker than the Pounder that I didn't mind. Then I got drunk one night and got the Pounder. It's not too bad, but I did get stuck with the missile launcher, which I removed, and I've fallen into gulches a few times which required some frustrating precision blasts with the Up-and-atomizer to get out of. For people that aren't running huge sales I say just stick with the Speedo. Mines and remote control gun are really nice.
