But it’s so loving stupid because we have Mind Stone, all 10 signets and 10 talismans. Like it’s a solid include in 4-5 color decks but it really isn’t that amazing in anything else and it’s definitely not worth $30. Seriously the Brawl decks are just gross I’m so very disappointed in WoTC

Oh and Capn Andy, the 2019 NPE didn't work that way. I have two copies of a rare I acquired before finishing the NPE. I know this because it's from a code. Autotapper in this game is pretty good, which just makes it worse when it decides to spring the trap and savagely own you

It’s better than any of those in a 3 colour deck and even in two colour it’s better than the talismans because you don’t take damage. Not that it matters because you want all the 2 CMC rocks you can get anyway and this is one of the best. You run it alongside your Fellwar Stone and appropriate signets/talismans. It’s an auto-include in any deck that wants any artifact-based ramp at all which is at least like 95% of EDH decks I’m not spending 30 bucks on it either but this is what happens when you print one of the best rocks in the format with limited availability Wafflecopper fucked around with this message at 05:45 on Sep 21, 2019 |

Ever since they added the "pay X" button to let you choose to autotap anyway I have turned off autotap and never regretted it. Not only do you avoid usual autotapper poo poo where it prioritizes lands poorly, but it also saves you from accidental clicks by giving you an extra confirmation step before actually casting spells.

Spiderdrake posted:Outside of the weird thread constant of hyperbole, the take away is actually more likely that the spec bubble we labor under caught wind of "possibly playable standard cards" and wotc gleefully escorted the playerbase to speculator buyout town. The signet thing is likely a result and not the beginning. If people were buying the decks to speculate on other cards that they think might be standard playable, they'd be parting out the rest of the deck and the mana rock would be cheaper. The fact that the mana rock is the expensive thing tells you that that's what people are speculating on. (Or alternatively, legitimately have demand for that's not being met).

Meanwhile it’ll still do everything it can to avoid tapping blast zone even if it’s your only untapped left. You might want to activate it for X=0!

First game playing azorious flyers in 2020 event. I draw 12 lands in my first 18 cards. There's only 22 land in the deck. I'm far too lazy to do the math to calculate the % chance of that happening but its got to be infinitesimal. I went 3-0 two times in a row with a yarok/dread deck then started 2-0 lost the next 2 , then 0-1, 0-1 in absolutely brutal fashion. The losing streak started against simic flash, he had U/G mana untapped and I had 7 mana available, thinking my Yarok was safe against a quench I slammed him on the board. TALES END. TALES loving END. Who the gently caress plays that card? I swear to god. If I had played any of the other non-legendary cards in my hand instead of yarok I would have won that game.

Like I can see how "low powered instant into low powered creature, BUT IN ONE CARD" will have trouble keeping up with the guy slamming knights and turning them sideways turns 2-6 for Murderous Rider in limited, murder stapled to a creature is way more palatable at rare, where you may only see it once every few drafts, rather than at uncommon where you could see it multiple times per game. Simic Flash is a hoot and a holler but it loses to lots of things and needs a decent draw to get any momentum. Gruul seems really strong against it, it has tough creatures that demand to be countered and if you can resolve 1 or 2 its usually gg.
