Obviously if you can't overcome that you shouldn't keep playing, since getting substantially over 50% in this game over the long term is very difficult given the matchmaking, but if your winrate is better than you think it is, maybe seeing that will help you feel better about your play. There are also just those days where every single match seems to be either mana flood or mana screw. I had a day a week or so ago where every single opponent seemed to have an absolute god draw, at which point it's time to just hang it up for a day or two.

My first match with the play anything was a grindy as gently caress pyromancer mirror match. It's a pretty cool deck though.

Weirdly on the two uncommon cards reward on the mastery track I got 4 cards... which I know the dupe bug, but I got 3 different cards. Also, as they're uncommons, I have no idea if I already had them.

So I just logged in for the first time today and got the NPE decks. I guess we don't actually get the cards in those decks if we already had them? Because I looked at the monoblack one and that didn't give me an extra Knight of the Ebon Legion?

I think I've spotted a flaw in this event... They're accidentally skipping the 2nd and 3rd games of a match, making this MUCH less useful for testing purposes. People could exploit this bug to play stupid bullshit that only works when your opponent doesn't know it's coming!

So it turns out that having Teferi and Oko in play is incredibly oppressive. It owns. Oko + Hero = 3/3 + whatever I actually cast every turn on a planeswalker that ticks up when doing it, which also owns. I wish I had a decent mana base though.

So it seems like token generation is pushed pretty drat hard in this set. Oko, Garruk, Field of the Dead, if you aren't making at least three power for free every turn you're not really a control deck I guess? Unfortunately with the meta moving toward red aggro more dominated by rares and mythics than uncommons it might be harder for new players in this set. Eh, this is the very first day of release, there are a lot of interactions to figure out. Remember that the 4C Kethis deck didn't appear for what, a full month after M20 came out? There could still be some really gnarly synergies and combos that have yet to be found.

Henge also seems very strong against Cavalcade. Beef on the ground makes their attacks fizzle out quickly, Questing Beast laughs at all their 1/1s and also smashes Chandra, and the Goose and the Henge are great at keeping the life total up
