It’s already been confirmed Devo and Ween will be playing the same stage, no worrying about missing out on anything.

Additional shows in Boston and Philly announced. Sadly the Philly show falls on the Saturday immediately after my daughter's birthday so I can't make it.

I haven't seen them since the last time they played at the outdoor venue in Charlottesville so I was super stoked for about two seconds before realizing the timing.

I wonder if they'll ever come to DC again.

I wonder if they'll ever play more than a two-night weekend run with one night in Philly again.

I love the music and the band but this current situation is kinda pathetic. Mickey and Aaron obviously hate each other and both are struggling with substance abuse. Onstage energy is weird, they "can't handle" being Ween for more than five nights out of the year...

It just seems like a cash grab these days. Headline a festival and 'play-through' Chocolate and Cheese, collect check, go back to a crumbling personal and home life, rinse, repeat. The other members (Claude, Glenn, Dave) look like they're doing much better and wish so much more for the band. I feel really bad for Dave who is just trying to be a successful musician outside of Ween and seems to get jerked around by the frontmen's inability to book a show and stick to the date without loving it up.

And they're just never going to play a new song? They can't even play the stuff from the Freeman album once or twice? Nature Man, Black Bush, would all be great with the full band. It would be poignant to see them play Covert Discretion together.

It's like the Rolling Stones 2020 tour but a lot more pathetic because they aren't old enough to be a nostalgia act yet. They're just gently caress-ups.

The Denver shows will be the first time I'll have seen them since just before Fiesta dropped and I'm trying desperately to temper my expectations. I've heard they still put on a good show, but I wish they had anything new left in them.

Of the ten times I've seen Ween over the last three years, there hasn't been a single show where they weren't loving throwing down as hard as possible (outside of Vegas when Deaner had food poisoning, obviously). Hell the last time they rolled through Portland they encored as a duo while the rest of the band kept the plug from being pulled.

Give up on the idea of new material and at least take joy out of the fact that they're constantly pulling out deep cuts and playing things they've never played before. I'm hella stoked for the first ever Candi.

Edit: Though admittedly Mickey was getting progressively more shitfaced as those shows went on!

I’ve seen em like 6 or 8 times since the reunion and have enjoyed every minute. Sure, Dean and Gene probably have a pretty complicated relationship at best, but they still put on a hell of a show.

I got a couple of tickets but that Boston show sold out in like an hour. You think they’d add a 2nd show or book a bigger venue. Although bigger than HoB is the Orpheum which is always a low energy place to see a show.

Wilbur would def be too small for them i think. I think HoB is probably the best venue for them in terms of who you get to see even if the tix sold out fast. Rockland Trust sux, they couldnt sell out Xfinity and that sucks more. gently caress the Orpheum.

Yeah the Wilbur is half the size of HOB, which is weird. I guess you just can’t see the stage from half the places they stuff you in at HOB. I’ve never been up in the balcony either. Avalon was a much better setup. Also surprisingly, the orpheum is only a couple hundred people bigger than HOB. Next size up is wang center, which wouldn’t work either.

Yeah the choices for them in Boston are either HoB or Rockland trust, which sucks but I like HoB better out of the two.

I saw Deaner's band play at Brighton Music Hall which was a blast, seeing him play those fun douchey bar songs in a bar was a lot of fun.

I've never been into the Moistboyz. Same for Deaner's solo projects, aside from a couple songs. In my opinion it's easy to tell where the weird and creative side of Ween comes from (it's not deaner) :ssh:.

I saw Deaner's solo act when he first started touring as the Dean Ween Group with Guy Heller on vocals, and a couple times after that when he was on vocals. With each show it further solidified my opinion. He's one of the greatest guitarists in the music world but he definitely seems to be a one-trick pony when songwriting is concerned. Of course Ween wouldn't be Ween without his gnarly self though so don't get me wrong and think I'm hating on the guy.

On the other hand, Gene's solo album FREEMAN was amazing. It was like White Pepper 1.5 and has some really great songs on it.

Yeah but don't ask anyone else in the band to ever play or learn those songs because GOD FORBID.

Seriously, if you love Ween but haven't heard this album then you're missing out. If you love this album and haven't heard any of the live shows on archive.org from the acoustic tour, you're extra missing out.
