That throw was less straight than Julian Cleary.

To clarify: I was talking about the English throw, not the Argentinian one that was called 30 seconds later and was substantially straighter.

One of the things which is interesting to do is to compare the current "confusion" around hits to the head with the same happening around tip tackles in the 2011 World Cup. Wales were caught out when Warburton was sent off but the result of the change in laws is that tip tackles are almost non-existent in the game now. This is an unalloyed good and if the same happens to contact with the head then even having England benefit in this match will have been worth it for the game. Just.

Ironic that two people have been sent off for bad tackles on Owen Farrell

Also, this.

Unless you’re an Argentinian clearing a man out of the maul.

Ford needs to take the second half kicks. Can’t think of a game where Farrell has been 0% at half time.

Doesn't really matter, they've taken a dim view of jumping into kicking players for a while now. Nanai-Williams milked it a bit but it's still a penalty.

Can’t believe “waiting to see if they can punch in a fourth try” would lead to so much drama and pressure, but here we are.

Very interesting call against the Samoa scrummie to award the penalty to Japan in the first place...

When all their players decided to play French club rugby instead of internationals.
