Does Windows movie maker cost anything? Because I've been using that at work and it works.

Watched John Wick 2 and bought untitled goose game, good fun all round.

Putting some serious thought into getting an electric motorcycle, except I can't guarantee charging at work and the jump to a comfortable range doubles the price of a bike. Dumb idea?

No, It's an awesome idea. i'm personally considering the idea of abusing the gently caress out of our moped laws for one.

An electric moped here means unlimited power, unlimited acceleration, 70kph limit when there are no speed limits in town that high anyways.

I could even get a 500w one with pedals to classify it as an e-bike, not need insurance, and be able to ride it on bike paths, but I'm fat as gently caress.

I spent a week in the hospital eating 3 meals a day and staring at the loving wall for 20 hours a day and lost 10 pounds. Not the most satiating weight loss method but I'll take it as a jump start.

You shared it with a dick.

Kiddo passed her driver's test today, we've been drilling the hell out of all the things she did wrong on her previous test and she's a demonstrably better driver now. Of course now the real fear starts, because I won't be with her when she drives places. For now the rules are only go home, school, or work, where she's practiced and confidently knows the way. If she wants to go anywhere else, we need a test drive beforehand to catch any surprises or difficult situations.

Good work. When/if I have kids I’ll be paying someone else to teach them, I just don’t think I have the patience or skill to be that person. Good on you for drilling good habits.

I learned a lot driving a lovely 50cc scooter around when I was younger. People are dumb and bad and you need to assume they’ll try kill you.

I'm thinking of buying a C5 Z06 - I sat in it today and oh my god

I've been driving poverty spec Subarus for the better part of the last decade and they were miles better than the C5.

That being said, I still want to buy it because I'm a simple man and the vroom vroom sounds were real nice

I looked at a C6 a while ago, their interiors are also bad. I was thinking about getting one as a track car, but buying garage space somewhere to save some money/risk by owning one of those (and taking road trips in it to get to tracks) seemed not worthwhile.

I put Carbotech XP10s on the front of my car for the first time, prepping for an event next weekend. They're a little noisy for street use, but I can deal with this if it means not cooking the brakes at Arizona Motorsports Park, and they should be compatible with swapping for my Carbotech street pads without touching the rotors.

If you think C6s are bad, try a C5.

I knew the C5 was bad, I just thought the C6 was when the interiors got respectable. This was incorrect.

I'd kind of like a cheap track car that's pleasant to take 6hr road trips in and can carry a set of tires and a passenger, but the easy answer to that is just driving my existing car and dealing with the accelerated wear and track insurance.

Scheduled 36* hours this week. Still have tonight to go.

* The pay period ends at 11:59pm tonight. I'm scheduled 8pm-4:30am, so 4 more hours will be on this check.

Corporate told my boss to cut how many people he schedules each night, he told them they're going to wind up spending much more on OT, they said nah, stagger starting times instead... so he's proving a point.... :v:. We also previously had assigned aisles, so there's a couple of aisles I know REALLY well, some I know decently, and some that I'm just lost on. Instead of having assigned aisles, we move aisle to aisle as a group now. Which is how it's worked at other stores I worked at, but overall we're much slower because everyone had their own aisle that they were responsible for before, and we're ALL having to learn every aisle now.

(I'm loving beat, but I took 3 days off next week so I can finally get a car loan, get a car, etc).

If you’re not afraid of a Unix command prompt (and with that newfangled Linux subsystem for windows, no one really should be), there’s a way to do this that’s, like, 23 keystrokes, including installing the package.

Edit: oh poo poo didn’t see the editing part.

I think this is in small part based on how many hours we've used in the past - based upon having mostly very experienced people. Then "Jim" came along.

We just lost most of our veterans. One was out for back surgery, got temporarily fired because his doctor didn't sign something in the right place (that's some loving bullshit right there), and can no longer lift heavy stuff above chest height (he normally did the aisle with water, haterade, sparkling water, bottled water, etc - all the heavy poo poo), so he's on light duty indefinitely. Two transferred to another store to be "closer to home" (one is legit, as he moved over an hour away to be closer to his kids... the other lives halfway between my store and another, he just got sick of the management - TBH good riddance, he was fast but a total rear end in a top hat). Another put in for a transfer to another store, and the last one is wanting to go to a store closer to home (he told me where he lives, there's 2 other stores he could go to that would be significantly closer). If all of that happens, that will make me the second most senior on the dry grocery overnight team, not counting the overnight stock controller/manager. That's a shitload of turnover in less than 6 months, and all the veterans in dry have been there 3-5 years.

I float between frozen and dry grocery myself; frozen has very little turnover (one guy there has been there since the store opened), but I hate frozen (and have nerve damage in my hands aggravated by the cold).

Cavalier.

For that matter, I'm almost positive the window switches in my Saturn are from a C5.. not 100%, but pretty sure. And the door switches are from a late 80s Chevy pickup.

I've never been in a Grand Am but I was shocked at how poor quality it is inside. The sales guy clearly had never been in a C5 before, and was struggling to even say something positive. Resting your elbow on the center console would squeak, none of the panels on the dash even lined up and EVERYTHING loving rattled when in motion.

The seat itself moved (???) even though it was powered. I thought it was broken, but no that's just how it is.

The only thing I've been in that has been that bad are the Tata Sumos in my home country.

And it was basically mint, 30K miles on it. PO clearly took care of it, the bolsters didn't even have cracks. I've never had an interior be a deal breaker for me, but man it almost is. Gonna go back to the dealer on Monday to see if he can knock the price down a bit more because it's such a fantastic machine to drive otherwise and agreed that it looks amazing as well.
