It was a joke one of his writers came up with as an aside to the story, I don't think Oliver can be accused of toeing any lines here at least.

It would be pretty boring to just come out and say :capitalism: every week. Sometimes it's better to leave the subtext as subtext.

Not to throw punches after the bell, but I don't know if that's really fair. There is a hearty serving of "Trump bad", but I think most of the features make it pretty clear that whatever the broken system at hand is has been broken for a long time.

Yeah but it's not like they were actually broadcasting anything from HBO before that anyway. What would actually pass the censors? Maybe Sesame Street? You think Oliver would be employed by Warner if he upset their GoT gravy train from those sweet China Bux?

It's a convenient lie from both sides that makes them look better, Oliver can be all I got HBO banned in China and China can ignore all this poo poo happening outside their firewall because lol as if this even registers as a blip to them.

Joe Buck gets a lot of grief, both deserved and undeserved, but man this is quite a few times now I've seen him handle big MLB playoff walk-offs absolutely perfectly.

Joe Buck's problem has NEVER been the big moments. He's pretty consistently good with those.

And he's much more tolerable without Tim McCarver in the booth. But he's still a blowhard that consistently rubs me the wrong way when he's not literally telling you what's happening on the field.

I don't mind him so much for baseball. He's definitely a blowhard but maybe my tolerance is better for that in baseball? You kinda need someone to make noises but not really say anything to fill the dead air.

He's horrid for NFL. I won't say the worst but that's just because the bar is set so low.

I think he's better than he used to be, but he doesn't seem to enjoy sports very much, which is kind of a problem.

On the football side, I think he'd benefit from being paired with someone with a bit more personality than Troy Aikman.

Buck has said on multiple occasions that he finds baseball boring and doesn't like watching it, but he keeps calling it because Fox throws bucketloads of money at him to do it.

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.
I first thought "wow, I can't believe he would say that" but if you're publicly saying you're only doing for a lot of money that's pretty powerful negotiating.

If people were rational, they absolutely should have broken in for coverage.

In Dallas with the Cowboys on? That would've resulted in the station being lit on fire so I understand.
